The new iO toothbrushes from Oral-B have the same gentle but effective feel as the dental hygienist brushes in the office. For over 20 years, people have emphasized brushing hard at the gum tooth border, supposedly as a way of reducing plaque buildup there. But for several years now, it seem to me that this does much more harm than good, and I directly witnessed gum, recession, and exposure near the teeth roots, especially at the areas where I focused on brushing at the gums. The opinion I have been hearing for the last few years is the exact opposite of this: do not brush the gums, only brush the teeth , but affective flossing, etc. It’s important to protect the gums from this trauma of extremely fast, spinning, toothbrushes, and I’ve been very happy with the new generation of toothpaste, such as Gum Detoxify. I could not be happier with the IO Generation two gentle toothbrush, and the most gentle cleaning heads, used on the lowest setting. Our only complaint was how to use this in a family of four people who previously had four separate heads with four separate colors. Braun was completely unable to offer any help in this matter: they said they do not have a multi head holder that would fit with the new.IO Toothbrushes or the charger. I’m here to tell you the new charger fits perfectly well in the old Braun oral B 4 brushhead Holder. It’s important to note the old charger does not work with the new io Toothbrush, but it is the exact same size as the old one so it snapped easily into the holder. It is also also important to say that the new io Brushhead do not fit completely inside the holder either. But they lay on it very easily with the lid up, and this has solved our problem. Very happy with this toothbrush! The battery lasts for a couple of months (using the lowest setting). The “timer”/pulsing helps with making sure you are brushing long enough. I broke my brushing into “zones” and brush the bottom front until “timer” pulses, then switch to top/back bottom until timer, then front top until timer, then finally back top teeth, until the “done” pulsing (2 minutes) is up. The brush head size is good and I feel like it reaches the back of my teeth better, since it is round. Good quality! My last visit to the dentist was the best one I’ve had in terms of “cleaning”….they didn’t have to do much and said my teeth looked good! Overall, I would definitely buy this again! Read more

I've had the io version with the digital screen, and multiple other oral-b electric toothbrush versions. Because I work in the dental industry, I had access to free or discounted products. After trying them all, this is my favorite. Why? In my opinion, it has all the advantages (great cleaning, quieter operation) while also conserving battery power. A charge lasts ages - a week? More? Whereas the cure digital screen just lasted a couple days. Ultimately, that screen meant the death of my toothbrush because the battery wore out so bad it needed to be charged before every use. No such problem here! The brush size is reminiscent of the cleaner used by your hygienist. Very small and efficient. It functions beautifully, with a quiet motor that gives impressive rotations for the best clean. Truly, A+. Read more

WILL NOT CHARGE. My partner bought one, I bought one. Comes slightly charged. Once it runs out, you’ve got yourself a non-functional toothbrush. Left it on charger for hours and no indication it will turn on. Thought it was a faulty batch but hers and mine both did it and considering the other most recent review, it seems like it’s a quality issue across the board currently… Read more

Love this great electric toothbrush. Does an amazing job with cleaning teeth and massaging gums. The directions on how to use it are somewhat confusing but I was able to figure it out myself. Read more
