I have been using this floss for years, and I used to love it! I’ve been getting refill boxes also for years with no problems. Needed a new set of glass containers, and the new floss is subpar! It’s not strong like it used to be, so I do not feel like my teeth are getting as clean as they used to with the older formula. In addition, it often breaks while I’m flossing my teeth, which is so frustrating and causes a great deal of waste. Please bring back the old version; otherwise, I will find a better floss. I’ve been thinking about how my previous floss has such a negative impact on the environment so I’m very pleased to have found Lucky Teeth. I really haven’t noticed any flavor, though, which is fine with me. I love the black color because it really allows you to see all the bits of food you remove, even when you think you’ve gotten it all. Not too thick, not too thin. I decided to go through my house and replace certain items with more sustainable eco-friendly options. I was an avid user of plastic floss picks for years, especially for their portability, but I realized that this was only a convenience for me and not for the earth or the animals I was affecting in the process. Regular string floss also comes in plastic containers, so while I would not be throwing out a plastic item as often as I was with the picks, I would still be using a plastic item and I didn't want that. I opted instead to try the glass jars with refillable floss. After some research on different brands, I ordered this one. The complaints for other brands of jarred floss were that the floss shredded when being used, it was too thick to go between teeth, and that the floss kept falling into the jar and had to be fished out each time. I experienced none of these with this brand. The floss stays under the metal cutting piece each time, it never falls into the hole, and I never have to fish it out. When using, the floss easily glides between my teeth, even between my crowns, and with no shredding. I like the flavor, and I like the portability of the jar, which is what I loved about my old floss picks, too. The floss is also made from bamboo, so it is biodegradable, an extra bonus. Each of the three jars are individually boxed, so you could give one away to someone if you wanted. I gave one to my boyfriend and kept the other two, one to use at home and one to use on-the-go. The only downside I see with these is that you are likely to go through the floss more quickly than you would the floss that comes in plastic packaging, and since refills are not that cheap ($10 for 60 yards on their website), it will cost you more in the long run. That is pretty costly for something as simple as floss, but in the defense of the animals, the price they are paying for our lifestyle choices is much greater. Even if I am only reducing my plastic usage slightly by switching to jarred floss, then at least I'm doing something and I'm happy to be using this brand to do my part. Read more
