These are actually less messy than a lot of the conventional cotton swabs - they produce less lint! Well-wrapped cotton and this brand doesn't skimp - there's actually a decent amount of cotton on each end. I've been using these for over a year now and couldn't be more pleased. Also comforting to know that the farmers who grew this cotton are getting rewarded for being honest farmers, and I'm getting less exposure to toxic chemicals (herbicides, pesticides, etc.).
