I wanted to clean it up before guests came over, but I did not want to deal with strong smells or messy products. I used this repair kit over a weekend while the kids were napping. The putty had no harsh odor, which was important to me since my children were in the house. I applied it to small holes and thin cracks, and it spread easily without dripping down the wall. The scraper tools were helpful for different areas. The plastic one felt gentle for smoothing large patches, while the metal one worked better for tighter spots. After drying, I sanded lightly and wiped the dust away. The wall felt smooth and ready for touch-up paint. I was happy that the repaired areas did not show uneven texture once painted. If only I could give it negative stars. The spackling does not dry. I opened the can and it was like soup. Against my better judgment -and I don't know why I did this - I used it to fill a small drywall anchor hole. Spackling should be dry within 5-6 hours at the most. After more than 24 hours this stuff was as wet as it was when it came out of the can. I then had to scrape it off of the wall and clean the residue which did more damage to the wall than was there to begin with. Then I got some Dap Drydex - the pink stuff that turns white when it's dry - and that stuff was dry and solid white in about 25 minutes! So they can't say it was the temperature or the drying conditions. Read more
