Great concept but the raccoons took it off immediately. The plastic red hooks are cheaply made and so they bend ,therefore if you place it somewhere tight you’re likely to get smacked in the face like I did. I used a regular bungee and placed it on the lower bar in the front , zip tired on the lid in the middle so they couldn’t pull it left to right and that works much better. I would have returned it but after it hit me because of the cheap plastic design of the hooks I just threw it away. Lol Read more

My camera woke me one night showing me a family of raccoons having dinner from my trash can. Creeped me out so I bought these. The do the trick. Little buggers can't lift the top on the can now. I put two straps on my can because with one you can still push the side up a bit. The strap is easy to adjust to the tightness you need. The hooks grab on easily and can't be bumped off. I really like that I can release and hook it with one hand and minimal effort. I found little footprints all over the top of the can but they couldn't open it. The price is a little steep for one but worth the money. I would recommend these for protecting your trash cans from any animals you have around, dogs, squirrels, etc. Read more

It’s a heavy duty strap - it’s adjustable to a point but it’s not long enough to wrap over the lid to the metal bar so I have to attach it right under the edge of the lid and because of the design it’s not as tight in this position. I contacted the manufacturer to ask about this and they never got back to me. This will do the job if by some chance your fit is secure but for me the raccoons probably laughed at how easily they slipped it off. I now use bungies that actually reach the metal handle. EXTREME EYE HAZARD - REAR CLIP CAN BECOME PROJECTILE RIGHT AT YOU! If you tighten strip to keep animals out as intended, the rear clamp bends/warps and loses grip, flies off at high velocity right at user! Hit me square between the eyes once - another 1" left or right and I'd have been in hospital without an eye. Worsens over time and in hot weather, needs METAL, LOCKABLE rear clamp. Read more
