I however found the size to be not true, as it was large for him .. usually fleece caps are stretchable and offer a snug fit, this however was very loose and perhaps for the larger head types. I received this Outdoor Shaping branded American Flag Beanie in a deep medium gray color in a timely manner in perfect condition. It came in a white box that was sealed and is perfect for gift giving. It comes with a guarantee/ care card that also has some deeply sentimental well wishes that may make even the most serious person crack a smile. The positives that stand out to me are this hat is soft inside, roomy, made from recycled materials and high quality. The American flag is a nice touch and gives it a fashionable patriotic appearance. I like that it is a bit oversized. I wasn’t sure what to think at first but I like a hat that doesn’t squeeze my head. I believe my only consideration to put out there is it’s doubtful it will fully cover the ears, or at least it doesn’t cover my ear lobes. I’m the type of person where I don’t get cold very easily except for my ears. The hat is wider than it is tall. I purchased this beanie for the grid pattern aesthetic and US flag patch, not for warmth. If I had purchased it expecting it to keep my head warm in the cold, it would have received 1 star. The material between the squares of the grid are so thin that you can see through them without stretching the material. This causes cold air to pass right through them as if you aren't wearing anything at all. The bottom portion of the beanie where the flag patch is located doubles up on material and would actually do a good job of keeping your ears warm, if it were actually long enough to cover the ears, which it isn't. How they can justify selling this for $17 is a mystery to me. If you want to stay warm, this is absolutely the wrong product for you. If you want to look good, pick this product up if you can find it on sale. Read more
