Customers find the skull cap comfortable with a stretchy fit that works well under helmets, particularly for winter cycling.
Fabric and construction are superb. Stretchy, yet snug. Fits my medium-sized adult head. Expect long-term use of this cap. Goal: thin, snug, comfy cap for warmth for winter jogging that would not interfere with my optional fleece and outer shell hoods on top. This is great for that purpose. Read more
These caps are different construction: the gray one is lighter and smooth polyeste; the black one is a little heavier and a light fleece, so I wore the gray one on a cold wet backpacking trip, putting it on it when I needed something to keep my head a little warmer, or under a wide-brim hat on a chilly day, or under a heavier poly ski cap on a cold night. I wear one or other under my bike helmet when out a ride, or under a baseball cap when out on a chilly day. Excellent value, and well made, a good option when it's cool enough to need something, but not a regular ski cap. So far, after three months of occasional use, they haven't stretched, have been comfortable, a purchase I'm glad I made. Read more
The package comes with 2, as shown, 1 grey and 1 black. I rode a cold day recently with the grey, and came away wishing it were a bit larger. Trying it again while shopping for something else, I now find that the black clearly has more interior volume than the grey, although on the table they look about the same size. Maybe it just stretches more, but it easily covers the ears and midway down the neck. My grey seems at least 1/2 inch shorter when deployed. So ... try them both, and with the same orientation. I have a normal size skull. I have bought a couple of different helmet liners from different vendors and been disappointed. They stretch out or are too tight. I was worried about some of the bad reviews on this one, but bought a black one (Nov 2023) and it turned out great for me. I have no idea what those bad reviews were talking about. I have had a good fit, it stays snug and doesn't stretch out of shape. I have had no staining of other items when this liner gets wet with sweat and it has not faded with washing. In short, I am very happy and about to order another couple. Because, like my reading glasses, I can never find it when I need it. UPDATE 20250128: I have been wearing these almost every day and hand washing them at night so they are dry by morning. They have lasted quite nicely with no fading, stretching, nor falling apart. I didn't realize this cap was for warmth but it is okay even in So Cal in the summer. Thin material hats can actually be hotter on your head and not fit as well. These caps (I have ordered a second pair) have really nice material that is comfortable and feels nice. The fit is excellent and it does not slip off or around. I have several others and have tried several more; these are my favorites. Only ding? I would like more colors, navy blue, jungle green, medium tan, etc. Love these caps! Protect your skin. I specifically purchased these for workouts, because I have a shaved head and I tend to sweat heavily. These skull caps perform remarkably well in wicking sweat and keeping it from pouring down my face. They are well constructed and have held their shape well through many hand washes. They fit very snug and generally stay in place. For sure, the sizing is well suited for those with shorter to buzzed hair and "average" sized heads or less. Mine is approximately 23.5 inches in circumference. I'd guess those with much larger heads or longer, thicker hair may find them too small for effective use. I have appreciated them so much that I've ordered a second pair to have on hand as spares, swapping out for workouts, as well as wearing under hats and caps.. Read more
Used this to go under my hardhat during winter months since I'm constantly working outside or in non-heated areas. Definitely a lifesaver for my ears! Comfortable and warm yet thin enough so it doesn't bunch up. Love it. Read more
