I really like this leash. I got it because my dog is quite strong & I felt like he was going to yank me off the porch sometime. So I got this for the little bit of slack you get, & it has worked well for that. I don't know what the inner stretchy part is made of, but it's as stretchy as the day I got it, which tbh I was not expecting. I figured it might just get stretched out permanently. But that hasn't happened, it's still stretchy so it must be that rubber tubing they use for exercise bands or something. Whatever it is, it's held up. The handle near his collar is great, & necessary when I need to keep him close like when crossing the street or when lots of people are around. It's sturdy & a good width for him (80-lb GSD). It doesn't tangle & the clasp is well made & doesn't get stuck. I would get him another one if this one ever wears out, which at the present rate is going to take quite a long time. Read more

This is a great leash for hiking with my German Shepherd. When we walk on the sidewalk I expect my dog to walk beside me, but when we go hiking, I like to give him more freedom. As a rope rescue tech, I typically wear a last resort belt that has a ring to clip a carabiner to. I use that ring to clip the leash to me. My dog can wander around as we hike keeping my hands free and not allowing him to pull me around like a static leash would. The Pros: The bungee portion of the leash is constructed very well. I do not think this portion will fail easily. The lower handhold is nice when I need to get better control of my German Shepherd on the trail. The clip is easy to operate and swivels nicely. The Cons: The stitching on the lower handhold began to come loose after the very first use. This is not too much of an issue since my wife can sew it back up and make it stronger than it was before. The upper handhold has no padding and feels too thin. This is nylon webbing, so even though it is thin, it shouldn't break under normal use. I also wish the clip was bigger. Just want to say that this product is super. Very strong to hold my dog back, when he sees wildlife that has him pulling. My dog is 55 pounds in weight! This is a very good leash and the main reason I chose this particular leash from the numerous other bungee leashes is because this was labeled as an "Amazon Choice" that alone proved to me that this leash is a good buy! I bought this leash for bikejoring with my dog but it now lives in my car. This is NOT a training leash. The bungees inside are enough give for a pulling activity like canicross or joring, without sacrificing durability. It's on the heavier/bulkier side, and not easy to clip on itself, so it takes up some room in a pack. The clip is good quality, the stitching has not unraveled, and it's easy to wash. I like the extra handle for walking in reactive situations or taking a dog to the vet; it really helps to have a little bit of extra leverage without yanking on their collar.
