Its very easy to use with Nespresso compatible capsules. If you want the fresh ground option you will need to buy a espresso grinder and a coffee scale. I enjoy the quick and easy of the capsules. Its very solid and obviously built to last. I travel internationally and find it as a perfect addition to my travel gear. It's a great little cup of espresso! Read more

I ordered the OutIn Mino Portable Electric Espresso Machine from OutIn because, as a flight attendant who travels frequently on transoceanic routes, many hotels in Europe do not provide coffee makers in the room. I wanted something compact and reliable that would let me enjoy espresso on my own schedule, without having to wait for a café or coffee shop to open. This machine is impressively portable and fits easily into my travel bag without taking up much space. The design is sleek, modern, and very well thought out. It feels solid and high quality in hand, and the self heating feature makes it incredibly convenient when you are in a hotel room with limited amenities. Being able to make espresso day or night is a huge plus when dealing with jet lag or early departures. The espresso it produces is surprisingly good for such a small device. The flavor is rich and smooth, and it truly delivers a barista quality experience on the go. I also appreciate that it works with both ground coffee and capsules, which gives flexibility depending on what I have access to while traveling. Overall, I am extremely impressed with this portable espresso machine. It has already become a must have travel item for me, especially on international trips. If you travel often or stay in hotels that do not offer in room coffee, this is an excellent investment and absolutely worth it. I very highly recommend this as a gift to flight attendants, pilots, traveling, nurses, or anyone who travels for work or pleasure for birthdays, Christmas, graduation, etc. This would also be the perfect gift for someone who enjoys camping, hunting, and the outdoors. This little espresso machine is surprisingly capable for its size. The self-heating feature works exactly as advertised, bringing water up to brewing temperature without needing an external kettle, which makes it perfect for travel, camping, or early mornings when you don’t want to fuss with extra gear. I tested it with both ground coffee and capsules, and the pressure and extraction were consistent, producing a rich, crema-topped shot that easily rivals compact countertop machines. Living in Hawaii, this has been especially useful for beach days and road trips where a quality coffee stop isn’t always nearby. My only minor complaint is that the water reservoir is small, so you’re limited to one drink at a time, but that’s expected for something this portable. Overall, it’s a thoughtfully designed and genuinely practical espresso maker for people on the move. Read more

I got one of the early Mino units and after a week of use I already sold my Outin Nano and my old manual Wacaco. The Mino is smaller, tougher, more waterproof, and way more useful in real life. It really can heat its own water and the 9000 mAh battery gives me about five or six full hot-water shots before needing a charge. When I am camping, I just heat water on the stove or campfire and suddenly this thing can crank out hundreds of shots without touching the battery. That alone made the manual pump machine feel like a medieval tool. At home or when I travel, I use the built-in heating and it works faster than the Nano ever did. I even made an espresso in an airplane seat and the people around me watched like I was performing a magic trick. Great crema too. The company has been easy to work with, the build quality feels solid, and so far the reliability seems high. If you want a compact espresso machine for camping, travel, hotel rooms, or sneaky in-flight caffeine missions, the Mino is absolutely worth it. Five stars from a happy caffeine addict. Read more

I make great espresso with all my machines, including the original Outin, Creminas, Biancas, Pavonis, 9Barista, Flair, every one makes great espresso, but not the Mino! They have a serious problem. I ran straight water through the first time, to clean it. Out of 70ml of water, only 15ml or so, ran through it. It took 5 runs to use the 70ml of water. That's with no coffee. Next I ran the same grind as I use on my original Outin (I have a kit with the awesome OE Fixie grinder) with 12g of high quality coffee, and the same thing happened. Only 15ml of water drawn per runs. No crema, and not espresso. Finally, I ran to the finest setting of my Kafatek Monolith Flat, and used 14g of coffee, and the exact same thing happened. No espresso, no crema, and 15ml of water used. When you can run an espresso machine from the extremes of no coffee, to the max, finest ground coffee, and you get the same results with both, there's something truly wrong with that espresso machine. As much as I wished for this machine to be my new travel espresso maker, it fails miserably. Read more
