The media could not be loaded. I want to start by saying, I do not have a dog of my own. So I am not able to give long term insight into this toy. I was dog sitting for a friend of mine, and I got this toy for her to make her like me. It definitely did the trick. I wasn't sure about durability or Nala's proclivity for destruction. So I only gave this to her when I was there to supervise her with it. Nala was instantly interested when I squeaked it at her, and then we played catch with it for about an hour; she really seemed to like the way it would bounce unpredictably due to the rubber helmet. After a few days of me bringing the toy out each time I arrived, she started sniffing through my bag as soon as I walked through the door, trying to find her toy. I love that this kept her interested and engaged. She appears to be a gentle chewer - she chewed hard enough to squeak the toy, but didn't chew hard enough to even gouge the silicone helmet - and she showed no interest in trying to get the stuffed monkey out of the helmet. This is a smaller toy - around the size of a tennis ball - Nala is a medium sized lab and it fit easily in her mouth - but doesn't seem small enough to swallow unless it gets chewed to pieces. The toy is pretty light weight, but the helmet is smooth rubber/silicone with ribbing so we were both able to get a good grip on it during play. It does get slick with dog slobber though. Both Nala and I found that it was relatively to easy activate the squeaker. After her mom returned, I handed the toy off to her. She told me that Nala continues to prefer this over all of her other toys and when she gives it to Nala, she instantly carries it to the door like she's waiting for me to get there. I'm going to have to go over soon for another visit! I think this is a great toy, at least for a gentle chewer - if you have a destructive chewer this may not get as much use before being destroyed. Our border aussie puppy loves his monkey! It keeps him occupied for at least 10 mins which feels like 1 month in puppy years. Small enough for his little mouth (3 months old and 20 pounds). Tires him out too because its a very active chew toy. Also not loud in the slightest, actually super quiet. Read more

This rapid destruction occurred before my dog had a chance to enjoy the squeaker, highlighting the fragility of the inner toy. Good noise level and not too loud. For dogs that are gentle with their toys, this set might suffice. But for more robust chewers, the stuffed animal is likely to be destroyed quickly. In such cases, removing the stuffed toy and allowing your dog to enjoy the durable helmet alone could be a more practical solution. Considering the current price point, the helmet alone offers substantial value. It's a durable, engaging toy that can withstand vigorous play, making it a worthwhile investment for dogs that enjoy interactive toys. I am not so sure about these having noticed how some other dogs chewed through theirs. I'm just worried my dog is going to ingest the plastic parts as he chews through it. I ended up taking out the plush part and just letting my dog play with it, discarded the purple plastic part. Read more
