Outstanding product, performs as advertised. Be aware: 1. the blade is VERY sharp (I nicked my finger) so use the included accessory to hold the veggies when they get small, and 2. even at the thickest setting, the slices are VERY thin. Read more
Very sharp, not as large as expected, easy to hold and maneuver. However, I'm very surprised and disappointed that OXO provided a useless and inferior vegetable holder/finger protector with this mandoline. The guard provided does not grip vegetables adequately and is therefore a hazard. I threw the guard away and purchased this one made by Rosle instead https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004PC1BYI?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title. It's far superior and safer. Read more
3rd one we ordered - that should say something. We literally wore out the other one after 9 years and bought a second one. At Christmas, I always bring the salad and everyone is amazed by how thin and perfectly we slice carrots, radishes, celery, etc - it's the mandolin. We use it all the time. 3rd purchase - a gift for a fellow foodie. Wouldn't give as a gift it we didn't love it. Years and years ago we had one with the box thing under it, and it was so complicated to use that we sent it packing to the thrift store. This is easy and it's really sharp. Love OXO Good Grips. This slicer is a slicer only, and tiny. I should have researched more before I bought it, as there are more versatile products for lower cost. It's very small and can't be used for large items. The slices range from transparent to thick enough for a sandwich. I can use it for onions for a sandwich, but not for onion rings. It did make quick work of a medium sized onion. Read more
