This sharpener is extremely compact, collapsing into a 5" smooth block for storage. It expands for use with a "rubberized" base and hand grip that prevent the sharpener from sliding across your counter or out of your hand while you are handling your sharp knife. Best of all it truly sharpens your knife with no need for vigorous movements or forced pressure. I tried it out on cheap dull knives I was about to dispose of and it worked very well. I used it on old Chicago Cutlery knives and it honed the edges well. This sharpener is extremely well designed, easy to use, and seems to be cheaper than other sharpeners at its level. Read more
