Thermometer works very well. You just secure it to the side of the glass and it’ll display temp readings after you press the button. It’s a “set it and forget it” type deal. The media could not be loaded. Bought this to use as a quality control thermometer for my heater. Always matches up within a degree (which is fine because I’m my aquarium needs to stay between 76&80 generally). Been using it a couple weeks and it works easily. Display is easy to read and I am confident the battery life will be long due to the power saving aspect. You just touch the button and it shows the temp for a few seconds before shutting back off. Installation was a breeze and I wish I didn’t wait so long to get one of these for peace of mind. I do have the temperature sticker that came with my tank as well but this just seemed more reliable. I used one of those cheap stick-on strip thermometers on my 20-gallon tank for about a year.
