When I was a young woman, I never really understood the phrase, "fine lines." I just thought that meant little wrinkles, but no, we're talking about the tiny little lines that develop around our mouths or next to our nose or wherever you get this new texture that isn't exactly a wrinkle, but is very much a tiny little crevasse that could easily be misclassified as a line. I get it now. Oh lord, do I get it. By merit of having these lines, I now have a vanity full of foundations that worked on my once-flawless skin, that make me look more like the crypt-keeper and less like a dewy-skinned goddess. Neat. Those old foundations are too matte and settle into every single little line or pore, and it's a horror show. All that to say, my skin's new best friends are the words dewy, glowy, and brightening - adjectives that would have made me run for the hills not so many years ago. This "skin tint" by Palladio just so happens to be something that gets along with my mature skin, fine lines, large pores and all. I put skin tint in quotation marks because this is definitely closer to what I think of as a foundation. I've used skin tints, and they're usually a little more sheer - not that this is like mega thick, but it has a consistency very typical for medium coverage foundations. I'm not complaining! This product does a great job covering up a little bit of redness or even light under-eye circles. The best part about this tint or foundation or whatever you want to call it is that it doesn't settle into my lines and plays well with any dry spots I've got, giving my skin a more youthful look. I have noticed that this isn't the longest-wearing foundation. If you're looking for something that will last you from morning until night, this might not be the best bet. Granted, I don't use a setting spray and more often than not, don't use a full-face primer, so it's possible you could extend the life with a little effort. I can't stand the way a full face of makeup feels when I've got multiple products layered on, so I seldom go to all that hassle. This foundation blends easily, whether you're using a sponge, brush, or your fingers. It's not sticky or overly thick. The only warning I'm going to give is to tell you to err on the side of caution and use less than you think you need, especially if you're going for sheer coverage. Read more

This is a skin tint with light to medium coverage. There are lots of skincare elements including aloe, niaciminide and hyalauronic acid as well as agave leaf extract and vitamin E. It is an excellent value for a drugstore foundation with a nourishing formula and buildable coverage. It has a 12 month period of use after opening. Coverage: The claim of light to medium coverage is true and it is buildable. It is on the more pigmented side of skin tints, almost approaching being a serum foundation more than a sheer tint. I found myself building some up to use as a concealer in problem areas. I have broken capillaries and redness under my nose so first I buffed a layer out and then I went in with a detail brush to spot conceal. As an overall tint it was a little too heavy for me and felt somewhat heavy on the skin. But I am a person with mature skin who has always disliked wearing traditional foundations. For people who want light to medium coverage, this gives the potential coverage it promises. Mature skin: I am over 50 and I have combination skin. I am a regular retinol user and my skin is always in a state of rebuilding so I have some uneven texture even when I exfoliate. For me, this tint was less forgiving than some other skin tints that have more emollience or creaminess. It was not blurring and it has a satin, or even soft matte finish. It caught a bit on skin flakiness and accented large pores for me. The formula has neither silicone for slip nor oils for creaminess. I believe it is a water based formula. For me, I dilute it with moisturizer when using as a foundation and only use it full strength when concealing. It was about average in performance for my skin type. I have tried other products that blurred my skin texture better as well as products that highlighted my skin texture worse. Quality: The quality was excellent, especially for a drugstore foundation. There was no oxidation and no transfer. It applies very smoothly with fingers or a brush. While not quite as finely milled as some high end foundations it was smoother than most drugstore foundations. There was no perceptible scent. If you want a truly buildable skin tint, with a satin finish and skincare ingredients, then this is a strong contender. Fair porcelain shade: This is truly fair or at least capable of flexing for a fair person without leaving a cast (I match true match 1c or mac 15nw). It was pretty neutral and had neither yellow nor pink tones. It is cooler than the next shade up but still more neutral than cool. Container: This contains the standard one ounce that most foundations have but the container is tiny, square and compact. A lot of brands are using this compact, dropper style of container for their skin tints and I like the approach because it is sanitary and easy to store. There is no doe foot to collect germs and no dropper to clog. The dispenser gives a lot of control for how many drops you want to use. The lid clicks shut securely. Read more

I love this foundation! The coverage is surprisingly good for a lightweight foundation but also buildable if more is desired in some areas. I have applied it without my usual moisturizer underneath and it glides on beautifully with a glowy finish. My skin is very sensitive and dry on my face and is prone to reactions if there is any fragrance added or if makeup is not hypoallergenic. I have had no reactions to this and it has virtually no fragrance. Light Ivory is a good color for me without pink or grayish beige tones like so many light foundations have and it evens my skin tone variations. This one won’t be wasted and end up in the foundation rejects box! I recently found the Palladio brand by searching Amazon for vegan cosmetics and bought a lot of their products. I love everything I ordered! Vegan cosmetics are important to me primarily because they are cruelty free but also they usually have non-irritating ingredients. Palladio cosmetics are reasonable and very high quality. I do wish the size of this foundation was larger as it is only 1 ounce. The bottle is a little hard to squeeze in order to dispense the foundation. A little of it goes a long way but I wear foundation daily so will be ordering another soon. This little bottle of beauty is worth trying! Read more
