I owned the identical size and from the same manufacture, rice cooker and used it for over 25 years with no problems. We eat rice many times a week and it was still serving us well when it met an untimely death at my hands. I left it sitting too close to an open fire and the side melted. But for that accident, I would not be writing this review. These are industrial strength rice cookers. My son, who is a professional chef, has gone through 3 rice cookers in the past 12 years. He always wanted the identical make and model as this this rice cooker, knowing ours had been around his entire childhood and a portion of his adulthood. He's getting this same model for his wedding anniversary in December. There are not enough superlatives to describe my feelings about the easiness of use and the quality of construction of this rice cooker. I'm sure the cooker will be around when I'm gone! Read more

When it arrived, it was so close to Christmas that I just wrapped it in shipping packaging - since it was a gift for my daughter. When she opened it Christmas Day, it was a batter bowl - not the rice cooker I had ordered. She was gracious enough to say that it was OK. She would accept it rather than go through the hassle of returning it. Next time I attend a pampered chef party, I will order her a rice cooker. Will not attempt to order online again. Read more

I love this PC rice cooker plus. It needs a better name. It bakes cakes. It cooks small whole chickens. It takes chicken breasts, onions and carrots and water and makes very quick soup. I am planning on experimenting with stevia to see how many sugarfree things like egg custard I can make with this little wonder. Love, love, love. Getting two more soon so we'll have one for the daughter getting married and one for the camper. Similar looking products just don't do the job. Get this. Read more

This rice cooker works fine but I don't see any major advantage with it, especially if you eat rice often. The size doesn't really allow you to cook a lot of rice and you don't save any time. In fact if you use more than one type of rice, e.g. brown and white, or buy a different brand you need to read the directions to see how to microwave it. Many brands (from Asian stores) don't even include microwave directions so you are guessing.The clean-up is faster I guess but not that much. Perhaps it is because we eat rice almost every day in our house that I don't see the value of this product. I imagine for someone who doesn't consume that much rice that it would work out better for them. Read more

I bought this same Chef Rice Cooker years ago and missed it terribly when I lost it during my move. I shopped for a new rice cooker but went back to this make and model because I knew it worked so well. Rice turned out perfect every time. I only gave it 4 stars because the rice you buy in large bags and/or plastic containers that are natural do not cook thoroughly and the rice is still crispy. With that said, I've never been able to cook these varieties of rice anyway, only the Far East flavored box rices. It may just me! Read more

My husband had a rice cooker but it took up space on the counter. This you prepare the same way but put in the microwave. It’s perfect every time. I love it! I’ve tried it with white rice, basmati rice, jasmine rice and it all works. I don’t think wild rice would work because the process is a little different. Very easy clean up. Do not put in dishwasher.
