These carbon zinc batteries are ideal for low current draw items (e.g., clocks) which is why I specifically look for carbon zinc batteries like these. The product listing for these says they’re guaranteed best before 2019 or longer which is a bit scary since that’s now 6 years past. Given that, first thing I checked upon receiving them is the expiration date: 2028. (Whew!). They’re not the freshest batteries (thus knocking 1 star), but they’ll work for our purposes. YMMV as you might actually receive something that expired in 2019 or 2020 and you’d be receiving items exactly as described. Read more

I ordered these Panasonic 5734 16PC AA BATTERIES because you can't find them in stores. I wanted Duracell, but they don't make them anymore, and I trust Panasonic. I'm going to use them for my three clock repair kits, and they say to use only these types of batteries which is carbon/zinc batteries or it can ruin the movement in the clock. They're relatively inexpensive also. I don't know anything else about them, but I'll come back and revise my review when I know how they perform. Read more
