I ordered two (2) pairs of pants size 38” waist, one grey, one black. The waist on the grey pair measured 37 3/4” the waist on the black pair measured 36 7/8”. The black pair was returned. The bottom hole at the waist closure was the culprit. The button holes were not aligned in the waist band at the same point in the waist band in each pair of slacks and consequently the whole closure sequence (button hole and hooks was misaligned). Pants were of a very good quality material. Pockets stayed closed, ie did not bulge open. Good design and cut. Looked very good on me. Fit was wrong for my body type though. No fault of pants. I have thick waist but not such wide seat or thick thighs and calves. So while waist was right the others were loose on me. More than I expected and it was not minor alterations. Stay far, far away. Absolutely horrific customer service. I purchased an expensive pair of pants that were either mis-sewn or mis-sized and did not fit. I tried to exchange them for a pair of pants that WOULD fit, and my return was refused because I had paid extra to have the pants cuffed. The Paul Frederick customer service rep insisted that I had been informed at the time of ordering that cuffed pants were non-returnable, and would do nothing to help make the situation right. Worst customer experience I have ever had--$146 down the drain for a pair of pants that was mis-constructed. I compared the pants I received to several pairs of THE SAME SIZE pants in my closet, and they are MARKEDLY smaller. But again, they don’t care—“you bought ‘em, you keep ‘em” is their policy. I’ve purchased shirts from these people for years and years, but I’ve never called with a problem until now. OK, well now I know. Let the buyer beware. Read more
