The display is nice and big with adjustable brightness. Bought this for someone hard of hearing so when I tested it I put the volume up and it's LOUD. Put in the battery backup and planned to deliver it the next day. Didn't realize either me or the manufacturer set an alarm and I can attest that it is accurate and will effectively wake the dead (at 4 a.m.) with the backup battery installed, even when unplugged for hours. This clock is just the right size and looks nice on our dresser. The numbers are huge and really BRIGHT - the highest setting will light up your whole room - but thankfully there's an option to dim them down. It was easy to set up and is exactly what we needed. Hubby needs to be able to see the time without his glasses, and this fits the bill. It holds two AAA batteries to keep the time/alarm settings if the power goes out. We won't be using the alarm because we're retired, but it's simple to set up that function if needed. It also has a USB outlet on the back if you wanted to plug in a charging cable. For years we had a Xfinity X1 box on our TV stand and became accustomed to the built-in clock. We moved it to another location and immediately missed the clock.
