Favorites.
These are my favorite pens for retail tags and a family member who handwrites extensively loves them to. The .7 shows up better on small tags. I find that it also fits perfectly in my hand and makes my handwriting neater by anchoring my hand in a way that is fluid and forgiving. They last a long time (if I don't lose them). Read more
Best pen I've used
These are my favorite pens in the office. I have blue, red and now bkack. This is honestly the truest black I have ever seen in a pen. The ink doesn't smear, or bleed through, it glides smooth across the page. I highly recommend this brand no matter what color you need. Read more

Not Quite Up To Par
I've been buying bucketloads of Pentel EnerGel 0.7 black pens for many years, solely for the purpose of working ultimate killer sudoku grids because, after sampling many brands/styles, this specific pen is as close to ideal as is feasible for puzzler's pen within a reasonable price range. And since I burn through a dozen pens in a flash, I'd rather not spend a fortune. This shipment of pens isn't quite the same as the previous pens I've purchased. The ink seems to run out faster, and the tip doesn't function as smoothly as past pens. The pens always "skip" when I'm writing the bottom left curve of the number 8, like the tip isn't getting enough pressure. I've never encountered this problem before in solving thousands of grids. Apparently when I reorder, I'll have to pay attention to the supplier of the pen and not assume that all Pentel EnerGel 0.7 pens are equal. Read more
