This coffee maker arrived today and we couldn’t wait to try it out. Set up is super simple, insert the spindle and basket for the coffee grounds, add coffee, plug it in and push a button to turn it on. That’s it. Wash out your parts first before using is always recommended. This coffee maker has two settings all part of the power on button. The button acts as the turn on and brew activator. Once the coffee is done brewing the pot stays on to keep the coffee warm. I recommend not leaving it on too long though as the longer the warming feature stays on, the more the coffee cooks at the bottom of the pot. This can alter the taste of left on too long. The coffee maker took less than 5 minutes to brew a 10 cup pot of coffee. We like the fact we can see the coffee through the glass decanter part of the pot. Knowing how much is left is a perk. Cleanup was super easy. Make sure you unplug the cord first and do not submerge the entire pot in water - don’t let water get into the base of the coffee pot where the plug fits. A trick my grandmother taught me was to dump the grounds, add max level water and percolate again to rinse the pot. We tried this with this coffee maker and it worked well. You may need to use soapy water at the sink to wash out the inside glass part of the pot due to oil residue and stains from the coffee. Your preference. Reading some of the lower star reviews before purchasing we noticed a few reviews mentioned poor coffee taste. We can honestly say the coffee from the percolator tastes much better than from an automatic drip coffee maker. The coffee from this coffee pot reminded me a lot of my grandma’s coffee, she brewed in a percolator on the stove. Which leads us to mention - the instructions that came with the coffee maker states 8-15 tablespoons of coffee for a 10 cup pot. When we read that we were surprised at the 15 tablespoon option. Since the pot is new to us obviously we need to play around with the recipe some. Our first pot we used 10 tablespoons. That’s 2 up from the minimum 8 and 5 below the maximum 15 in the instructions. For us, 10 tablespoons tastes perfect! It was not weak and not too strong like espresso. We do like expresso so we will use the 15 tablespoon option when we have a taste for that. But for a normal every day coffee pot 10 tablespoons feels right for us. You will need to modify the amount per your personal taste. So, why did we choose this coffee maker? We are full time rv travelers. Anyone with an rv knows counter space is very much limited. Our other coffee maker was a combo - pot on one side, K cup on the other. And it literally took up half of the counter. This coffee maker takes up less than half what the other coffee maker took as far as space. That in itself is another perk. The price is a bit steep for a simple percolating coffee maker. All the others seemed to be in the same price range though, give or take a few $$, so we chose this one because of the visual glass pot so we can see how much is left. That really is the only reason we purchased this particular coffee pot. It’s only day one. We have 29 days left to return it if something goes wrong. So if we don’t come back and update this review then assume we are happy and the coffee pot is serving us well. Oh - the manufacturer has a 2 year warranty on this coffee maker. We couldn’t get a new refrigerator with a two year warranty without having to pay extra so that’s another perk! Read more

After 5 pots of coffee, the switch stopped working. When it was working, it made good coffee and the basket was very good without a paper filter. I also liked the glass carafe. Too bad the switch failed. I was not going to take the chance with an exchange because I would always be waiting for t(e switch to fail.. Read more

This is just my second time using this coffee pot so I don't know how long it will hold up. I hope for a long time! Review: I made my first batch yesterday and was disappointed to see so many grounds floating to the surface. I strained the coffee through a pour-over filter to remove them, and the coffee was smooth-tasting and mellow. No bitterness. I have a Moccamaster also, and this brew rivals it for smoothness. That's saying something! Today I adjusted the grind setting of my OXO grinder to a more coarse texture to keep the grounds from escaping the basket. It worked! No bits of bean in my cup. The coarser grind requires a bit more coffee for a rich brew. I would use at least 8-9 scoops (1 Tbsp.) for a 7 cup brew. Today's batch was a little weak for me. The pot is beautiful, the brewing process is hypnotic to watch, coffee brews pretty quickly, and everything is easy to clean. So far, I really like it! Read more

The media could not be loaded. Great Coffee Percolator!!! Simple, one button one and off and so easy to clean. The coffee maker does make a satisfying thump as the hot water travels up the pipe and into the coffee basket. Extremely to clean!!! Coffee taste great!!! Read more

Makes a good pot of coffee. I know that coffee snobs say never boil coffee. I have been using a French Press and it does taste different. Having been raised with percolated coffee, the sound, aroma, and flavor is like coming home. The filter basket is a very fine mesh. Easy to clean. Love the glass pot. Like any percolator it is noisy. The pot is not too heavy. The cord is very short which is okay for me, but if your outlet is not nearby at least the cord is detachable. A longer replacement cord is cheap and easy to source. The only issue I have is that the keep warm feature will suddenly re-brew the coffee. Filled the apartment with the smell of burnt coffee. So I don’t use the keep warm. If they separated the brew function from the keep warm function, this would be the perfect coffee pot! Read more

This coffee pot looked awesome in the ad. The glass carafe was cool. However, there is a seal on the top of the pot which does not stay put. As such, when you pour coffee from the pot, reside from the coffee basket also drops out into your cup. Don’t like that. I also didn’t realize this is a pot that can be removed from an electric source (ie: removable pot from an electrical base). I much prefer that type of pot. But the main reason for the return is that rubber-like seal which does not stay put. I’m also sure that the seal would likely have the propensity to tear quite easily with repeated attempts to set it in place. Read more

Love this percolator! I am on a mission to remove plastic utensils and other tools from my kitchen, so this item caught my eye once I got rid of my old plastic Cuisinart coffee maker. Right out of the box, the percolator worked great. Took about 4 minutes to brew 6 cups. As of recent I have been using a French press to make coffee, which usually results in an overly bold/rich taste. This percolator is a nice alternative for a lighter, less saturated flavor. The overall flavor of the coffee is good, and very pure. I agree with other reviewers that for a more bold taste, you may need to add more coffee grounds than usual. I enjoy the ability to see the coffee brewing! Aesthetically, the pot is so cute and the design has a vintage feel to it. Very happy with this purchase! Read more
