Aside from the fact that the hat sits a little tall and funny on my head and the chin strap is a bit uncomfortable, this is a very good hardhat and it provides a high level of protection. The super patriotic stickers are also reflective, providing added visibility in low light conditions. I love this country, but I'm not usually one to literally wear the stars and stripes. That being said, there is something very appropriate about putting our flag on hard hats and I totally dig the style. I think my favorite part about this hat is the shaded visor. You can flip it up when not in use, but if you find yourself in a situation where you're having a staring contest with the sun, this visor will totally help out. Read more

I volunteer on trail maintenance and construction crews and too often I find my required hard hat flying off, or about to, with some sudden motion. I was looking for a hat which would comfortably stay on and be practical for use as a chainsaw sawyer. This hat should work out nicely. The back adjustable strap sits a little lower than my other hats, which should help to keep it from falling off forward. The Y chin strap should work better for comfort and keeping it on than my single strap hat. The hat has slots for adding ear muffs, which I intend to use when needed. I haven't quite figured out the black pieces, which appear to be for attaching straps for some purpose. I don't count my nose as being unusually long or large, but I find that the included visor may be a bit annoying by bumping my nose if the hat happens to lunge forward. The main hat body plastic is more heavily reinforced than my other hats, so it should be able to sustain greater impact without failure. That construction seems to have also added some extra weight, so this hat appears a bit heavier than my other hats. The pattern of the matte white hat is more interesting than my solid color hats. I selected white for the days working out in the hot sun in the fire burn areas where shade is scarce. I'm thinking that the rubber chin strap pad must have a more comfortable replacement available. However, replacing it would mean having to cut off the stop at the end of the strap (no big deal). I'm very happy with the hat and expect to get much use out of it. The cost is reasonable, also. This hard hat looks new and modern with a sleek fit, and the color matches my particular tool brand (red). It is not like the big ole round white ones from year ago. This actually looks good doing its job. The built in visor is also a nice touch. Smacking my old hard hat and this new one with various objects indicates a very similar construction. Dropping them onto concrete also did no structural damage. The size adjustments and fit were just fine for my medium to large sized noggin with plenty of adjustment to go a lot larger or smaller. Very lightweight helmet that I'd say will take moderate impacts. The red plastic is not the thickest and pay indeed crack from a serious impact. However, there is a lot of space between the internal harness for your head and the external red shell. This means that if the red shell crumples a bit you'll still have a gap. The internal harness is tough and comes with a simple tightening mechanism. The eye protectors are nice and clear and easy to use. This is probably one of the lightest helmets I have used, but that also means that it isn't as cumbersome. Read more

I'm just happy to find a white helmet that isn't covered in eagle decals and flags out of the box. They are separate and can be thrown away. The clear visor is easy to position but isn't quite adequate protection from below: I still flip it up and wear goggles for powered tasks. I just needed it to fit well, look adequate, and hopefully protect my noggin, so a thumbs up for this. Read more
