Works well

K. JohnsonMay 3, 2012

I love spring, but it makes my allergies go crazy. I've been progressively worse over the last few weeks so I decided to launch a full on assault on the sinuses: tea and honey in the morning, 8 glasses of water every day, wintermint gum, eucalyptus oil, and a humidifier. It's taken less than a week to be able to function like a normal person again and I think this humidifier is a large part of the reason. It's small and portable. It's also very quiet, to the point where I don't really hear it at night. After a couple of days I switched to small, 12oz water bottles. I keep it on high, so I get about 5 or 6 hours worth of mist with a bottle that size, which is just about right for me. My only criticism is that I wish there were a way to turn off the blue light once you've set the humidifier and you're ready to turn in. It's not a particularly bright light, but it can be a nuisance in a dark room. I would also suggest putting a towel underneath, just for safety's sake. The instructions say to use only distilled water, which I've been doing. However, it also says not to add any oils to the water, which I've ignored. I add eucalyptus oil, but I make sure that I wipe down and dry the unit every day, so I'm hopeful that the oil won't ruin the it. Read more

Great little humidifier!

CindyApril 8, 2011

Three of us at work have it and it's been working great. We all use it non-stop Monday-Friday, running it straight for 8 hours a day at our desks. I'm not sure what happened to the personal humidifiers that have negative ratings but out of the 3 of us, all of them work great. A few things that helped was that in the beginning I felt that my humidifier wasn't blowing as much as my coworker's but one day I switched out the Costco water bottle for a slightly larger Dasani water bottle and somehow that seemed to do the trick. For people that run into the problem of no mist when the machine is on, you just have to adjust the top part of the device a little until the mist is able to blow out. I just played with it tilting it and such and found that after you tilt it a little and set it down lightly, it should work fine if it stops spitting out. Sometimes when too much water leaks into the machine at once, the mist blowing is off also. If that happens you should pour out the water from the machine and then attach the water bottle back into the machine at a 90 degree angle. Overall I'm so glad I got this product. I'm actually planning to buy another one for my home. Read more

That darn night light.

Liz W.March 18, 2014

I use this at night when I travel, and it emits a good stream of humidity, but GAH! The light won't turn off. I prefer to sleep in a pitch-dark room, but this thing is like a Glo-fish. Read more

Great product...bring a towel

L. CastleJanuary 30, 2010

I bought this to use when traveling on business. It works great! It is compact (took up hardly any room in my carry-on) and easy to use and, most importantly, it lasts all night with a 20 ounce water bottle. The only thing that I would recommend is to point it away from your face and place a towel down where it is aimed because it tends to make the area it is pointed toward a little moist. Great product...I have recommended it to everyone I know who travels. Read more

DON 'T BUY THIS GARBAGE! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

Julius ForteNovember 19, 2010

Bottom line: Do not buy this. It doesn't work, and the company doesn't care. This sounded like a good idea, especially since I travel a great deal, and especially in the winter, motel's can get very dry with their heating system, and I like that I can take a simple water bottle and "screw it in". Bottom line: yes it does spew out some mist. However the thing leaks like crazy. It has damaged more than one nightstand. Here's the worse part... the "customer service" is not only non-existent, but actually abusive. When I spoke to them, there was an attitude like I was some "cold caller" waking them up at three in the morning to try and sell them a condo share holiday. The amazing part is that the unit was still on warranty, but when I tried to give them my Amazon order number to prove it was purchased in less than a year, they said: "we don't accept Amazon order numbers!" It's the only number you get when you order through Amazon! Of course this is made in China, and these people are just bag men who sell this crap to unsuspecting customers, and realize that because it's not that expensive an item, you are SOOL when it goes bad and will most likely just throw it out. The unit must cost them about $2.00, so they make a profit, and really don't care. There are dozens of other units that work just fine, and more important, the company's that sell them cares a little bit about their product, and stand behind their warranty. Not this one. Stay away at all cost. Really. The unit doesn't work, and you will lose your money. I promise you that. UPDATE: Finally threw out this awful unit. The noise got worse as well, more like a jet engine! However, just purchased the: "Remote Control Essential Oil Diffuser, 500ml Ultrasonic Aroma Cool Mist Humidifier with 7 Color Light Changing And 4 Timer Settings" on Amazon. Excellent humidifier, plus Oil Diffuser, very quiet, large capacity, compact for home and travel. Read more

Blue light is fatal flaw at night

_December 21, 2015

There is one minor problem, the nozzle/vent doesn't seem to push out very much of the vapor, but that is not so big. I have some bottles that don't fit the adapter, but all I need is one I can refill. But the fatal flaw is I really don't like bright blue lights at night, which is when I want to use it (as my mouth is drying up). Blue light ruins sleep. I have bright (as in able to read by) red LED bulbs that doesn't bother me. Blue kills my night-vision and wakes me up. Read more
