I have two small house dogs, both around 12 lbs, and this is the only thing that gets rid of fleas. For others out there who think this is a bit expensive, as I do, here's my solution to that. I buy the large dog package. I take each pill and cut it into 4 pieces, first in half, then each half in half. I give a quarter to each dog every 36 hours. From my experience, I can go a bit longer than 24 hours with it, but not a full 48. The fleas will be back. So 8pm on Tuesday, then 8 am on Thursday. I hope that helps people on here. Fleas are something I absolutely can't stand, and this does the trick. The package lasts me around 15 days. I didn't figure it out exactly, but more that 12 days by giving it every 36 hours. Oh, and on a side note, I cut each pill into 6 pieces for cats. 6 cats a day or 3 every 15ish days, you get the idea. This is more expensive than the liquid on the neck, but those just do not work for me.*One thing to add*if you wait longer than 36 hours to give the pill, I've noticed that for the first half hour or so, the fleas seem to go crazy and bite the dogs more. That means it working. There are people on here that say it doesn't work, but this has been the only thing I can think of that they are misinterpreting. It will work. Works great to combat a mild infestation. We could see it work pretty quickly, within hours of taking a pill there was relief. It doesn't kill eggs or larva, so retreating is necessary. I would recommend this to anyone who can't get prescription flea meds. Read more

I had high hopes for PetArmor CAPACTION (nitenpyram) Oral Flea Treatment for Dogs because it claims to start working within 30 minutes. Unfortunately, it did not work at all for my two dogs. I followed the directions carefully and gave each dog the correct dosage, but I didn’t notice any reduction in fleas—even after several hours. They were still scratching just as much as before, and I didn’t see the “rapid kill” effect that’s advertised. What’s most disappointing is that this product is marketed as a fast-acting solution for flea infestations, which is exactly what I needed. Instead, it ended up being a waste of money and time, and I had to look for other treatments right away. This might work for some pets, but based on my experience, it was completely ineffective. Ok, I haven't tried this yet, and it's my fault for not reading every single word when ordering this product. I thought this was a MONTHLY oral treatment to prevent fleas, not just stop them in their adult cycle. So now I'm going to have to buy a secondary treatment to prevent reinfestation and have all month control and protection. But I guess it's good to have on hand in case I lapse between treatments. My dog has been biting and scratching herself for weeks now and I never seen fleas but assumed she had to have some deep under her fur so figured price was so good for this product I had to see if it helped. Well a hour after I gave her 1 pill she was twisting and turning, biting and scratching like wild lol and then hour later calm as can be. No more scratching and biting and she sleeps peacefull now.
