This Petrodex Toothpaste for Dogs and Puppies is simply the best tool for keeping up with our dog’s dental hygiene. For a pet product, the most crucial feature is palatability, and this toothpaste wins on flavor. My dog genuinely seems to enjoy the poultry taste, which turns what could be a struggle into a manageable (and sometimes even enjoyable!) daily routine. The enzymatic formula is excellent for its intended purpose. It does a noticeable job of cleaning teeth and gums and, most importantly, reducing plaque buildup with regular use. Within days of switching to this product, I noticed a dramatic improvement in his breath—it effectively knocks out that harsh, unpleasant "doggy breath." The texture is smooth and works well with a pet toothbrush. It’s a reliable, no-fuss product that delivers exactly on its promises: easy to use, pet-approved, and highly effective. If you are struggling to find a toothpaste your dog will tolerate, give this one a try. Five stars for making dog dental health manageable! Read more

The media could not be loaded. My dog loves having his teeth brushed using this toothpaste - you can see him licking his lips when he sees the toothbrush and toothpaste. When he sees me prepping the toothbrush he already is waiting at his bed. It is gel like consistency which remains on his teeth to get the enzymes working. It doesn’t cause any stomach upset or loose stools. He likes the chicken flavor. He’s 3 and our vet said his teeth are good and do not need to be professionally cleaned yet. It does keep his teeth looking white and helps prevent buildup. Read more

I’ve been using Petrodex Toothpaste for my dog for a few weeks now, and the results are great! My pup actually enjoys the poultry flavor, and brushing has become much easier. His breath smells noticeably better, and his teeth look cleaner. It’s gentle, effective, and vet-recommended definitely a staple in our dog care routine! Read more

My dog LOVES this toothpaste! he even asks for more!! Since dogs love the flavour it is very easy to clean their teeth and I definitely have seen a difference in his teeth. They look clean and his breath is great! The product is thicker than human toothpaste, it looks like peanut butter. It does not foam, but it definitely cleans great!!! Read more

I have a five year old dog who has good teeth, but he has some tartar build up from over the years. I give him greenies daily and lots of chews to keep his teeth healthy and clean. When I first got him, I brushed his teeth occasionally, but eventually stopped. Sometimes I hardly have the energy to brush my own teeth everyday, let alone my dog's, so can you blame me for stopping? After a couple years of no brushing, I decided to get back on the good dog dental hygiene train and ordered another tube of Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste. Now with just a short period of semi-regular usage, my dog's teeth look amazing! I got him when he was one and his teeth look better now at five then they did when I first got him. I've been using Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste a few times a week for the last month. The toothpaste softened and loosened the tartar that was on his back teeth, and I was able to use a tooth scaler to scrap off the tarter. The tartar came off easily in chunks. I wish I took before and after pictures because the results were fantastic. Granted my dog's teeth were not in horrible condition, so don't expect this product to work miracles, but the layer of tartar by his gums on his back teeth are completely gone. I was even able to remove the dark lines on his back teeth by his gums that I thought were his teeth going bad, but it was just deep-set tarter buildup that had darkened. I've included a picture showing my dog's teeth. I'm no dog dental expert, but his teeth look pretty good (for five years old!) if I do say so myself! All the results mentioned above were achieved with only one month of using the toothpaste, so I have no doubt that his teeth will in even better condition with a little more brushing. My dog also loves the taste of the toothpaste, which makes brushing his teeth a breeze. I highly recommend using Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste with a tooth scaler for optimal results. If you do decide to use a scaler, be careful so you don't hurt your dog's gums and do not press too hard as you may damage the enamel on the teeth. Press down gently, but firmly with the scaler against the tartar. Make sure to brush the teeth again after using the scaler as a final polish. Read more

We have a 6 1/2-year-old Labradoodle. I have brushed his teeth before bed every night since he was a puppy. I have ordered different dog toothpastes over the years and have consistently ordered this Petrodex Toothpaste for Dogs and Puppies because it’s his favorite. After squeezing a small layer of toothpaste on top of his toothbrush, I tap my left thigh, and he'll come sit right beside my knee. He tolerates me lifting the side of his lip so that I can slide his Oral-B toothbrush along his teeth as best I can. When I try to brush his back molars once in a while, he still balks and "gags." Also, I can only brush his front and bottom teeth if I briefly clasp his open bottom jaw with my fingers and quicky do a "scrub" along and behind those teeth. What helps a lot is that he is anxious to taste this Petrodex; I think he likes the supposed poultry flavor. I'll stop brushing so he can periodically lick the paste around his mouth. He also enjoys licking the toothbrush so much that he slides down to lay on my feet as I hold the toothbrush for him. I'll turn it on each side so he can lick all around it. Many times, he's so into it that as I try to pull the toothbrush away, he leans forward to keep licking it. Regular brushing of a dog's teeth is just as important as it is for us. It's also good that it has a long shelf life. I ordered it January, 2025, and the box and tube both have an expiration date of April, 2027. If you research the ingredients in this enzymatic toothpaste, they appear to be perfectly safe. I recommend this product for dogs. Read more
