I found the vibration to be totally ignored by my dog. My old collar, which I could not get a replacement strap for had 2 excellent features that this one lacks. No volume control on tone. No immediate +2 shock level for excited or extremely unruly dog behaviors. I.e., chasing a chicken! The old remote is much easier to use with color differentiated buttons. The product is excellent. (I did NOT put it around my neck!) I followed directions provided with the product. This is perfect for a very smooth coated rowdy dog, like your wiener dog or rat terrier, but for a cattle dog....they're like a honey badger and don't give a... Works perfectly! Does not come with instructions on how to pair the devices but it is very simple: 1. Start with the collar powered off. 2. Press and hold the On/Off button until the green light goes out, then release (if released too early, the collar will start flashing like normal; if this happens, start back at step 1). 3. Press either button on top of the remote, the collar will flash green to indicate it has paired. **If you want this collar to be dog #2 make sure during step 3 you are on the selected dog #2 on the remote, or both collars will be dog #1. I ordered this one because I like that it's rechargeable but my dog barks right through it. I thought maybe something was wrong with the collar so I returned it and bought a new one. That one isn't working on my dog either. It is too late to return it now and I can't figure out how to contact the seller on here so I guess I'm stuck with a very expensive collar that is not effective on my dog. Read more
