I love gua sha and massage tools and I got this because I had never seen one like it and I was confused as it how it was going to work. The design seemed like it wouldn't roll right and I kind of thought it would be terrible but I had to at least test it out. OMG. I was so wrong because I absolutely love it. First off, it IS weird. I tried it first by using it without serum or facial oil on dry skin. The little ridges on the roller part sort of "pick up" and pull your skin as it rolls. That sounds super awful but I promise you it's not! It's especially awesome if you have sinus pain or a tension headache. It's sort of like deep tissue massage for your face. I especially love how it felt at the top of my nose between my two eyes, on my cheekbones, and my jawline. It also feels great on the sides of your neck. Even un-refrigerated it stays cool to the touch until it gets warm from your face, which is also soothing. In the fridge it is even better. This would definitely be great with serum, essence, facial oil, or tallow as it would really work the product into your skin. The little ball side is nice as well for areas like your eyebrow and the sides of your nose. It washes really well so product residue will not be an issue. It came super safely packaged and had multiple safety seals and layers of hygienic protection. I washed mine with gentle soap and water before use. It's shiny but not the kind of shiny that attracts a ton of fingerprints and dust. The carry case is much more heavy duty than normally comes with this type of thing. It comes with step-by-step directions for facial use which I have included in the photos. Overall this would be a great present to yourself or someone else who loves this kind of thing. It's reasonably priced and well-built. As someone with sinus issues, allergies, and migraines, I can't state how great it is. The ridge build may not be for everyone, but I think it's at least worth a try. One of the better massage tools I own for sure. I’m giving this 5 stars because it does exactly what it says, but in full honesty I’d rate it more like a 4.5 if that were possible. The stainless steel construction gives it a nice cooling effect at room temperature, and when chilled it feels amazing for de-puffing or even soothing sinus aches. I noticed my skin getting a healthy flush after use, like circulation was moving, which was a nice bonus. It’s definitely on the heavy side compared to jade or stone rollers I’ve used before, but that’s because the handle and rollers are all stainless steel. Not a dealbreaker, just noticeable. I also found it shines most when used with a serum or moisturizer - it rolls a little smoother and helps press the product into the skin. The dual-head prong fits perfectly along the jawline and especially the sternocleidomastoid muscle in the neck, which is a spot where I hold a lot of tension. That was probably my favorite use. The smaller bead on the other end is helpful for tighter areas, though I did find the roller a little awkward around the forehead and eye area, partly because it sometimes caught stray hairs even with a headband on. It comes with a simple cloth bag for storage, cleans up easily, and overall feels solidly built. My only nitpicks — the heft, occasional hair-catching, and slightly awkward sizing in spots — are why I’d personally call it a 4.5. But for quality, performance, and price, it earns the 5.
