We purchased two of these umbrellas as what we had were extremely large. These umbrellas were more compact in size. They were very easy to open. The size was perfect and they withstood wind resistance. They’re very easy to close and the value for the money is excellent. They fit in almost any spot because there are so small. These are the sturdiest, most well-made umbrellas I've ever seen for the price, and if I lived somewhere with more extreme weather I would have kept these in spite of a couple of issues for me: they are bigger and heavier than I want to deal with, and they are difficult for me (a senior) to close. The automatic spring opener is very strong/tight, so they open with a great deal of force and close about 2/3 of the way at the push of a button, but it takes some strength to close it the rest of the way by hand. If I were like my grandsons, who walk to school and work in difficult weather during parts of the year, this would be the umbrella for me--but it's a bit too heavy-duty for their grandma!
