My father has dementia and his base line recently changed. He use to get up and go to the bathroom. Now he is wetting the bed and refuses to keep the adult diapers on. This is great it adds an extra layer of comfort to the mattress while also keeping the mattress clean. I have one now in both of my small children’s rooms and have had several accidents (urine & vomit) none of which made it to the mattress. It is easy to wash. I read all the reviews and, balancing price and popularity, chose this over other, more expensive options. So I originally bought this to protect my mattress- and because my boyfriend actually jokes that he almost had the pee dream- luckily I did cause he did pee the bed last night— he wasn’t even in a pee dream bty - he won’t up decide he could hold it—and was dreaming he was news anchor— not a pee dream- smh — anyways !! -everything under is dry dry—thank goodness - It does slide off a little if you don’t get in really tuck good under the mattress- — I have a pillow top with 3inch mattress pad and it fits — nice - Buying another one for my other bedroom right now ! 10/17/22 Product description has changed! Now States it fits 11 - 17 inch mattresses, which makes a lot more sense. I'm positive it stated 6-12 when I purchased; I know my mattress is an odd size and from past problems it was imperative that I get one that said it would fit. Will check and see if I have a photo of the one I sent back. 10/2/22 I purchased this specifically because it was Oeko-Tex certified at an affordable price, and despite the deep pockets claimed to fit 6-12 in matresses. Unfortunately that claim is false; I have a 9-in and it is much too baggy. There is simply not enough elasticity for a tight fit. It's a shame because the top portion seemed very soft, and while the sides are more plasticy they weren't cheap feeling like other brands I've tried. If you have an actual 12-in mattress it might be worth trying, though I can't attest to its waterproofing properties. 3/5 Stars: The quality seems good but it's not suited for all the sizes it claims to be suited for. the version I purchased was Amazon prime with free returns and I am returning for free via UPS drop off.
