NOTE: I accidentally typed up this same review on July 1, 2010, but it ended up being labeled "A Kid's Review" since I think I forgot to check a box saying I'm over 18. Sorry for the double review! I tried to add a bit more information to this review since I can't delete the other one. I bought this nine months ago based on the positive reviews it received here and on Makeup Alley, and am so happy with how this spray works! I have natural wave in my hair, but if I let it air dry on its own, it doesn't look good at all. Spraying this all over and then letting my hair air dry or spraying it in and then blowing it partway dry (by "scrunching" the hair) has worked great. This creates soft curls and waves, and every time I've used it, I've gotten compliments. Also, when we went to Italy for three weeks last summer, this was my go-to product for daily use since I didn't have to worry about blowing my hair dry all the way every day if I used this. I did notice a slight fading of my highlights when I used it every day for three weeks, and it also left my hair a bit dryer than it usually is, but it's still a great product that works really well! It also smells amazing when you put it on, but, as another reviewer mentioned, unfortunately the smell doesn't last. I had also been worried that it would make my hair crunchy because of the salt, but it leaves my hair really soft and silky. Great product! Read more

A makeup influencer mentioned using this product and claimed it gave her volume/waves like no other product could so I decided to give it a try. This spray does everything it claims to. It gives my hair volume and texture. While I do think it’s pricey, it’s a salon quality product that delivers results. My only other criticism is that it doesn’t smell like coconut or Tahitian gardenia. It smells like 1980’s Aqua Net. Maybe it’s just my bottle or nose, but it smells like that hairspray. A positive is that the pump spray delivers just the right amount of fine mist to coat hair strands. If it smelled better, I would give this 5 stars. I still plan to buy another bottle when I run out so the smell doesn’t stop me from repurchasing. Read more

I really wanted this product to work for me, so I'm disappointed that it did not. It made my hair look dry, dull, frizzy, and damaged. I tried it on dry hair first and it didn't seem to do anything. Then I tried it on clean, damp hair after showering. I let my hair air dry and imagine my surprise when I looked in the mirror and I looked like a frazzled unkempt girl with my hair all sticking straight out. Mind you, my hair in its natural state is unprocessed, Asian hair, straight with a very slight wave. My hair is very manageable and shiny. This product made my hair look worse than doing nothing to it! Well, there are a few pros: scent, pretty bottle design, ingredients. Cons: did not work for me. Read more

Most beach wave products I use will enhance the natural waves I already have, sort of making them even from top to bottom. This product does not give me any sort of wave, and does not enhance the waves I already have in any way (if anything, it makes them look a little worse off). The product smells nice, and it does create a slight tousled look that you might like or might not like. For me, I don't like this spray and feel like it makes my hair look dirty without adding anything good to it (besides the smell). The packaging creates a really fine mist and looks nice, the spray didn't dry my hair out at all, and it's not sticky or anything like that. So there's nothing really bad about it, but it's just not doing anything good either. Read more

I bought this bottle from reading the two reviews on here and I am so happy I did! I love the smell, I wish it would last longer, it seems to disappear in less than a minute. I have fragile hair and work out every morning (like drenched in sweat) so my hair gets oily really fast, not wanting to damage my hair by washing it every day I have used dry shampoo powder like Oscar Blande (irritates my face when I start to sweat) this product has completely prevented all oilyness from occuring from my daily runs and has given it immense volume and curls that have lasted all day only to reappear the next day after the humidity from the morning shower when I put it up in a bun. I have combined this with my usual daily application of Sabino Moisture Block ( I apply a little to dry hair and it becomes super shiny). This stuff does give it a dry feeling and thats why I like the Sabino to combat that day at the ocean feeling but still keep those beautiful curls! Read more

I have fine straight processed hair with a little wave that can be coaxed out with the right styling and products. Always am searching for a good beach spray and believe me I have tried them all. My former fave was David Babaii's beach spray. But this one is even better~ it doesn't have the suntan-oil smell, it's matte instead of glisteny so it doesn't look wet, and the smell is fantastic! I used it on my dry hair after having washed and conditioned with Bedhead's Foxy Curls and air-dried it after scrunching a bit, and my hair looks like Shakira's when it's full of beachy waves (not her real curly look). Full, wavy, naturally soft and not at all crunchy or dry-feeling, not frizzy (just don't mess with your hair too much while it's drying) and smells wonderful! Recommend it, is even better when you scrunch dry with a diffuser~ but only gave it 4 stars because it's a little pricey (especially compared to David Babaii's) and there's not a ton of product here so it doesn't last as long. But a little goes a long way so I think it's worth the price. VERY pleased. Thanks, Amazon and Philip B.! It's the beach in a bottle! Read more
