These bulbs are great. I had used off brand or lesser quality smart bulbs for a few years and decided to finally get these. Big difference! These are brighter, have way more functions and have really nice scenes in the app. Plus the ability to customize scenes is great. We made a nice one that is for ‘fancy dinner’ with flickering candlelight on some bulbs and a nice soothing low light on others. Can even drop a widget on your iPhone to activate scenes. If you are new to these, be sure to invest in the hub too, it enables per-room and per-light controls and scenes. Without the hub you still have decent control with the app on your phone, but the hub really is worth it. Set up was better than the off-brand ones I had been using, and the Hue app is way better than what those used. Integrated pretty easily with my Google home, but I still haven’t quite figured out after a few months how to invoke scenes using voice commands. No issues using voice for on/off/dimming though. Bought this to replace an aging Philips Hue 60W equivalent bulb that I bought more than 10 years ago. I like the Philips hue system because they work pretty consistently compared to other budget brands with Apple HomeKit connectivity. The light is much brighter compared to the old bulb, and I use this in a floor lamp in my living room. I like that you can use the app or HomeKit to change the color temp of the bulb as well. As with other Philips Hue bulbs, you need the hub to connect to HomeKit, as it acts as a bridge to the Apple Device you have set as your base (Mine is a v1.0 HomePod). I just tell Siri to turn on, dim, or turn off the bulb regularly, and response time is pretty quick, about 1-2 seconds at most. It's very easy to use with HomeKit, and setup took at most 5 minutes to add to the hub and get it working. I expect this bulb to last around as long as the previous bulb, and it was worth every penny if so. Read more

The recommended price for these bulbs is vicious. However, shop around and you can find them for around 45 bucks. Once you get over the sticker shock, you will find that these bulbs are very bright (I can believe the 1600 lumen claim), they don’t fail over time (like so many led bulbs do), they have a high 90+ color rendition index (that’s nice light to be in) at least in the white spectrum, they can reproduce almost any color of light, they connect quickly, behave reliably, and the hue bridge + app gives you tremendous control over how your lighting works. You can buy cheaper bulbs, but the Philips ecosystem works properly. My family are largely technophobes. They would not have anything to do with an app. However, these bulbs in combination with a Hue Tap and Dial switch, operate as easily as any ‘switch it on at the wall’ type lighting. The price will sting, but the results make it worthwhile. Read more

I had the older or other 60w version for my room. The color selection and lighting overall was good, but it just wasn’t anywhere bright enough for the entire room, which I needed. This version was perfect, and it works great with my Apple Home setup. Read more

Glad they make brighter bulbs. These are better to buy than the smaller wattage ones. They get nice and bright, and behaved very well. Hate how expensive Hue is, but it seems to actually WORK so much better than other systems I’ve played with. Read more

Great bulbs, very reliable. I've used a number of different smart bulbs, including wifi, bluetooth, and zigbee. These bulbs connect reliably to their network, and most importantly, they STAY connected. One concern: I've ordered Philips Hue bulbs before, and received fake garbage bulbs in a Philips Hue box. Amazon was quick to refund my purchase, but be warned. Update: It's happened again, I placed orders for a couple of two packs of these bulbs and while one of the two packs was exactly as ordered, the other pack contained the wrong bulbs inside of the correct boxes. I'm thinking that Amazon is putting returned goods up for sale again without actually checking what is in the package. I will again be returning the incorrect bulbs. This is inconvenient, but as long as Amazon accepts these returns, I'm satisfied. Read more
