Great little safe
This is actually a great little safe, provided the small size suits your needs. A bit of paint did immediately fall off as soon as I removed the outer bag, but as the primary functions still worked, I wasn't going to return it on that basis. Buuuut, I soon found it was too small. If you're only looking to put in a couple of items, such as a passport and maybe two pieces of jewelry (in their cases), you're fine, but more than that and you'll likely be looking for something bigger. I ended up getting a 0.40 cubic foot one from the same manufacturer, but this is the only model that comes in various appealing colors! This safe didn't have the problem I've read other safes having, where the door + batteries become so heavy it unbalances the whole safe or causes the door to sag. In both safes that I bought from the same maker, the door worked as it should and had no balancing issues. What does detract from the product is the fact that the door, obviously having to house the locking and light mechanisms, is pretty thick, so you don't have as much space inside as you might think. You can't place anything right to the edge of the door, because then the door won't be able to close. That's partly why this small safe didn't work out for me.
