The media could not be loaded. If you’re trying to install this dash cam in a semi truck, you may have to modify the mount like I did because at first I used the included two side sticky tape mount the dash cam would only adjust to pointing to the hood, which is useless. Dash cam purchased to replace my older one that broke. The set-up was a little difficult for me, but managed to use YouTube for instructions to get it installed and set up. It appears to be working, though instructions are lacking on what to do if you are involved in an accident as far as how to save a recording. Read more

I was so excited to get this Pioneer dash cam. I hen received, I realized how behind the tech times I’ve fallen. I’ve been apprehensive about taking it out of the box after reading the instructions. Today I got it out at least to make sure it worked a what the picture quality is. I can confirm, it works and the picture is great. On screen setup is a breeze. Connection is good. I can’t install it fully or attach anything yet. I’m going to spend an afternoon with the top off to get the cords to into grooves and around the rollbars. So I have to wait but I’m looking forward to an extra layer of protection in case of accident. Also, I have a soft top which makes my vehicle very easy to break into, no security system so I plan to use this camera in parking mode so that it records what’s going on even when not in it. From what I can tell, it’s a great price for such a functional camera. Read more
I love how this dashcam connects to my phone. I have a few Viofo dashcams and this Pioneer has slightly better video quality. While it's not perfectly detailed to capture license plates from afar, it's still much clearer and can get them close by. Overall, it was extremely easy to set up and use. The price point is a bit higher than what you get, but overall I have nothing overly negative to say about the dashcam. Read more
This is my third dashcam, but the first from Pioneer. I have to say, from a usability standpoint the Z820DC is the simplest to setup and operate. The hard buttons, while not physically labeled, have labels on the display when in use, so they are surprisingly easy to operate. Wi-Fi connects immediately and I like that you can actually rename the SSID. The app is easy enough to understand, allows for live view, or downloading of clips or photos. Video quality is excellent for the front camera and 1080P on the rear is plenty good enough, imo. The front camera is wide, but the short height makes keeping out of your field of view easy and the rear camera is tiny enough to mount pretty much anywhere. I'm planning on getting the hardwire kit so I can enable parking mode. I've been happy with Pioneer for decades and the Z820DC continues my preference for the brand. Read more
