I ordered these based on the size chart and the fit was as expected. The dark blue color looks very professional and works well for office wear or slightly dressed up casual. The material leans budget synthetic side than a premium dress pant, and they aren’t as breathable as I personally like, compared to natural fiber dress pants. Although I am able to work from home sometimes, my occupation requires me to dress up for the office. Or for court. I am quite familiar with the world of trousers, slacks, khakis, dress shirts, cardigans, sweater vests, sports coats, blazers, suits, jackets, ties, loafers, oxfords, etc. I am not easily impressed. This pair of trousers does impress me. First, the style. In general, I prefer classic or relaxed fits with my trousers. This pair of trousers is cut in the mold of the contemporary men’s design, with a tapered look that molds closely to the thighs and legs. Although this is not generally my preferred style, this pair of trousers does it so elegantly that I am quite sold on it. Like most contemporary trousers - and as is my preference - this pair is a flat-front (meaning no pleats). There are two pockets in the front and two pockets in the back. I ordered the gray variant, which is best described as being made of a medium gray hue. A pet peeve of mine with classic trousers is that they come with thin belt loops, to accommodate the thin belts that used to rule the roost. This pair of trousers has wide belts loops, which will accommodate a range of belt widths including wider ones, as is my preference. I am particularly enamored with the texture of the material. Although it is thin, it is quite stretchy. I am in a transitional stage, having gained some weight during a recent illness. I ordered a size larger than my usual, and it fit just fine, because of the elasticity of the material. My inseam is usually ‘32, and this equally fit just fine. The trouser legs end in thin helms; as is contemporary practice, there are no folded helms at the bottom. The zipper - which is also gray - appears sturdily made. The style of these trousers means that they sit right on top of the shoes, as opposed to partially covering them, as is my accustomed look. This means that these trousers will inadvertently draw attention to the shoes; in other words, handsome footwear is recommended with these. The composition of the material reflects its unusual quality. Per the manufacturer, the material comprises 54% Viscose, 41% Polyamide and 8% Elastane. We entertainers are always looking for some sharp looking threads. Of course, we also have day jobs, and having nice clothes that can stand up to the work environment is a huge bonus. I'm happy to report that these fill the bill nicely! The fabric has a subtle sheen and crisp outseams that survived the "new clothes cleaning," and there's a decent amount of stretch. Not only will these work on a stage and at work, but I could imagine running in these (my main form of exercise)! In fact, there's a nice side zip hidden pocket that runners will like to stash essentials in so that items won't bounce out while in motion. Or just a great place for loose change. The comfort is extremely high-end, although I would recommend these more for Spring and Summer months, as I wore these during a Winter cold snap and needed a base layer when venturing outside. The reason for the missing star, however, is that they are cut just a bit too short for my tastes on the inseam. For those who are in a more typical size range, however, this might not be a problem.
