I work in marketing and am constantly wearing suits and sports coats even when I'm not working as i'm always on the lookout for a new marketing opportunity for the company i work for. Summer is coming and i run HOT and well, polyester and wool kill me. So i was on the lookout for something that breathes better that did not break the bank. I found these sports coats and took a chance on them. Well I absolutely love them. Fit: Fit is true to form, and you can trust what is listed. I'm 5"10 and 210 with the XL fitting me perfectly Functionality: This jacket functions perfectly, today is 90 degrees with a breeze and I haven't broken a sweat, the jacket allows the breeze to come through and i'm comfortable. Style: I have received a number of compliments from this jacket today with many people asking about the material and where i got it from. Value for Money: I found the quality of the materials, stitching and weight to be amazing. It's light weight and very well made. I think the price point you are paying and what you are getting are more than spot on. So much so that i purchased charcoal grey, navy and black jackets. Best of all, I took out the wrinkling from the package shipping with a steam iron and the jacket i doing well again wrinkles even with me getting in and out of the truck with it on. i'm very happy with this purchase! Wrinkled to all heck, but to be expected with linen. I used a garment steamer with a light wrinkle release spray, taking my time to get it looking sharp. Had to modify the cuff area by pulling some stitches to get the sleeves to roll up my forearm for the look I desired. Paired with a white linen shirt, charcol denim and brown casual dress boots, the overall look recieved more compliments than I anticipated. Great color and fit, but just be aware that linen will need a steaming inbetween uses to keep it looking sharp! Read more
This is a gorgeous linen jacket (L size) we got for my husband for a September wedding. It's high-quality and looks very classy. We did have an issue with sizing after I washed it on gentle and in cold water though: the outer linen shrunk quite a bit, but the inner lining didn't, so we spent a bit of time stretching the outer layer while it was still wet and were successful to a degree, but it was still smaller than before the wash. I actually then decided to order the next size up (an XL), but it was much too big and I returned it. It seems it might be best for the company to make the inner lining cotton/linen as well so the whole jacket would stay the same size if washed. I have a jacket like this and it was a breeze to wash and then wear. Read more
I had a presentation coming up, and decided at the last minute to get a lightweight linen sportscoat. After looking at a few retailers and thrift stores I came up empty handed and decided to try this jacket. I couldn't be happier. I received at least 4 compliments on this jacket at the small convention I was at saying 'nice jacket.' I am 6' 2" and almost ordered an XL, but the L measurements lined up for me, so I went with that and was happy with the fit. In several of the reviews it did talk about the jacket arriving in a bag, and rather wrinkled. This is true. I am also good with an iron. So, with a hotel iron I was able to get this the way I wanted it to look in about 15 minutes time. Additionally, I hung in the bathroom when I showered, and took a hot shower to allow the steam to do a little work. Seemed to help a bit also. Overall, for the price, look, feel and the jacket weight, it accomplished exactly what I wanted. And, I know I'll be wearing it now more than I thought as well. Update - I'd never submitted this review. And, I've worn this coat to many events now and ALWAYS receive compliments on it. Going to order the light blue now also to change it up this coming season. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! Read more
Jacket looked okay, except for a few obvious sewing mistakes. (I suspect that this may be a way that they sell "seconds" — flawed items.) The problem with this jacket is that, no matter how gently you try to wash it, IT WILL SHRINK SIGNIFICANTLY. After I wore it to a wedding, my wife gently hand-washed it in a sink with gentle detergent, blotted it dry with a towel, and then hung it up to continue drying. No soaking, no wringing. The viscose/linen shell shrunk so much that the inside lining was sticking out of the sleeves and was also visible at the bottom of the back of the jacket. I can no longer wear this jacket. The sleeves now end less than halfway down my forearm (which explains why the model in the photo is wearing his jacket the way he is?). The cleaning instructions do not call for dry cleaning, but clearly the jacket will not survive washing at home. Lesson learned. I would not buy another of these jackets. You're welcome. Read more
I liked the look of this when I ordered it. Unfortunately it is definitely not designed for anyone above average height. I am 6'4" and the sleeves and body are WAY too short. I got a 3XL. I just went back and looked at the size chart and noticed the larger sizes only get wider not longer. This is ridiculous. I guess they assume anyone needing more than an XL is just short and fat? I was worried that because of the very reasonable price this purchase would be a waste, but, I was completely wrong. It fits great, yeah the lining is maybe a liiiiitle heavy but nothing to complain about, it is well built and for the price, I dare you to find a better value. I will need to press it professionally because it is wrinkled from packaging but, hey, it is linen, it's going to wrinkle by nature. If there is one thing I would change, although I'm certain that would affect the price is that I wish it had nicer buttons. But that will not stop me from coming back and buying it in other colors. Again, great value! Read more
