This blouse is very beautiful in person. The ad pics really don’t do this blouse justice - as it’s so much prettier when you see it up close in real life. I ordered this to wear to a symposium in early January and it is definitely fancy enough for such an occasion - dressed up with a black boho skirt and my pearls to look effortlessly elegant. The material of this blouse is extremely soft and not at all irritating to my sensitive skin. It is rayon, polyester and spandex so keep that in mind if textile combinations matter to you. The blouse is exactly true to size. I ordered a 1x and it is roomy and not tight at all with just enough structure and flow to belt with my skirt. For reference, I am 5’5” and weigh 170 lbs. Relaxed and comfortable - this is business casual that secretly feels like you’re wearing cozy pajamas to the office. Sshhh don’t tell your boss though - they aren’t happy unless they think we are suffering in stuffy, uncomfortable clothing all day every day, am I right? This blouse also pairs well with jeans and boots for the laidback, casual weekend look - for brunch with your girlies. I ordered this in a 4x. My standard size is a 3x (5'5", 240lbs) but I carry a lot of weight on my arms so I was worried the sleeves would be tight in the 3x. The 4x sleeves were still a bit tight but the rest of the sweater was appropriately sized to a bit bigger than typical. The sleeves were very long however, and I had to roll them up. The sweater is very soft and comfortable. I thought I would be chilly in it due to the open lacy area on the upper chest, but I found it to be quite warm. You do need to be careful what bra you wear with this, as you can see it quite clearly through the lace part. I started with a black bra since the sweater is black, but it was very visible and a nude one that matched my skin tone worked a lot better. A lot cut bra that sits mainly below the lace area helps too. This is a nice plus size sweater that is generously sized. If you carry weight in your arms you might find the sleeves tight and need to size up. If your weight is more in your belly area and not the arms you should find this true to size to a bit large. I was really looking forward to getting this top because it looked cute in the photos. However, when I received mine, I immediately noticed issues that make it unwearable, at least for me. First, the fabric is of low quality, thin, sloppily woven, and with some areas where the dye didn't take properly. Because of this, tiny white spots appear in various places, not enough to make them seem like an interntional part of the weave. In fact, there is only one of these spots on the front of the top I received, right in the middle. It was difficult for me to show this in my photos, but in person it looks like when someone has brushed their teeth and splashed a drop of toothpaste on the front of their shirt. Second, the construction of the shirt is sloppy. The decorative mesh panel at the top front has been sewn at an off-kilter angle. If you look at the photos, you can see the design slopes upward on the right hand side, instead of running straight across as it should. I doubt this is how it was meant to be, not if you compare it to the top shown on the sales page. And even if it was, why would left side go up, while the right side is more in alignment with the rest of the horizontal design? Sorry, but this one is a hard pass. This is a cute color and very true to size. It's a bit more expensive than I'd normally pay but it is very nice. The reason I took off two stars is because how VERY delicate this shirt is. The lacing around the neck is so easily ruined by a puppy claw or fingernails... Anything will very easily ruin this shirt. Read more
