I'm quite picky about my underwear---in fact, the sign of good undies (in my book, at least) is that I completely forget about them all day because I never have to notice or adjust them. More specifically: I don't want my thongs to ride up/down or gap/pull to the sides during typical wear, I don't want the lace to roll into tight, uncomfortable strings, and I definitely don't want the waistband to dig into my hips and cause the muffin-top-effect on my sides. These thongs, in particular, are GREAT and fit just right with a fantastically-stretchy and wide lace waistband and soft cotton gusset. These stay in place and remain comfortable all day long (including during long travel days or workouts), PLUS, these also last a really long time. I ordered my first set a year ago, and all six pairs are still in great condition now despite just throwing them in the washer & dryer without any special care. Overall, these are pretty comparable to the fit of the great thongs that Fredericks of Hollywood used to sell back in their heyday (15+ yrs ago, before changing manufacturers for the worse), and I definitely decided to re-order more this year. (Sidenote: for some inexplicable reason, the pastel-colored ones are noticeably more comfortable & softer than the same ones in the darker colors, so I'd recommend the lighter colors for sure). I think these run very true to size (size large, 150lbs, hourglass figure). The only slight downside is that the colors are several shades more pale than the picture depicts (I enjoy brighter colors, but since these are so comfortable, pastels are just fine). I just received these yesterday and I have to say they are wonderful !!!!!! Be aware that if you wear a size Large you will need to get the 2X Large ~ ~ never in my life have I worn that size ~ ~ BUT they fit perfectly and I am so happy that I ordered 2 packages !!!! UPDATE: after 6 months of wear and washing, they have started to tear in the lace. they are still wearable, but don't look very cute anymore lol. they started tearing at the back seam where the cotton is attached to the lace. they have a tendency to shift forward on me (up the front) instead of the usual back rise that happen with thongs, which i find odd. ORIGINAL: i'm a plus size woman with a pear body shape and a tummy and these fit perfect! they provide enough coverage in the front and feel very comfortable. my measurements are 40in waist, 51in hips, size 18/20 pants. size 3xl fit good, but i might buy 4xl if i decide to purchase again. they don't have as much front coverage as i would like.
