It's truly a good basic. I almost always order a size up to allow for shrinkage and I did here as well -- however, it fits perfectly (on the loose side) because it's soooo stretchy. I wanted it loose enough to hide the bumps but fitted enough to wear as an underlayer and that's exactly what I got; so I'll be line drying instead of shrinking. If fitted is your thing and you baby your laundry, it's true to size (and color). My size is 38D and super curvy (meaning natural waist is much smaller than large behind) but I'm not constantly feeling the need to pull it down in back, as I do with many shirts. I love the barely-there collar and find it flattering. Turtlenecks always make me look like a stuffed sausage, even when I was barely 125lbs many moons ago. This neckline is a nice compromise -- and it's meant to look unfinished. Ladies who traipsed around the 90s will remember this sort of neckline and lettuce edge to the hems. I love a throwback.
