Maybe not top 3, or even top 5 in the list of Miyazaki movies, but *definitely* top 10.
Often referred to (unfairly in my opinion) as the "Japanese Disney", Studio Ghibli has been producing beautiful and heartfelt animated movies for decades. Ponyo explores environmental themes similar to other movies from the Studio ("Nausicaa" and "Princess Mononoke") but from the perspective of a child, giving it an innocence that sets it apart. No exception to other movies, the English dub attracts a litany of recognizable voice talent, including Liam Neeson, Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett and Tina Fey among others. Honestly, the movie deserves a watch both subtitled and dubbed. Suitable for most kids, there are some "scary moments" such as a flood, but generally parents can feel confident that they can enjoy this movie with children 5+ Read more

Ponyo
The product arrived in perfect conditon. Ponyo is a story of little girl who is created by the sea and a little boy who lives on an island. When the two children meet, the ocean causes the world to flood and the dry land becomes limited with the only way for the world to return to normal residing with the little girl, Ponyo. The film is beautifuly animated with some of the best water life I've seen in a long time. The score is just as powerful as the animation and the charaters are well acted, with Cate Blanchette, Noah Cyrus, Matt Damon, Tina Fey, Frankie Jonas, Cloris Leachman, Liam Neeson. Lily Tomlin, and Betty White lending their voices for the english dubbing. No suprise that this masterpiece comes from the legendary Studion Ghibli. This comes with both the Blu-ray and the DVD copies of the film and a booklet that has stills from the film and creator's thoughts and comments. This is a movie for the enitre family and for any Ghibli fan. The mailing process was great and the film is terrific. Read more
