If you are wondering whether this coat will keep you warm during the coldest months of the year, the answer is YES. I've been wearing this through our recent winter storms, and I absolutely love this coat. Here's a literal example: I ended up in a ditch on my way to work at about 3:30 am. A passerby stopped and asked if I needed a ride. He could only take me partway to work. I'd have to walk the last 2.5 miles, in about four inches of snow with more snow falling constantly. I walked it—turns out it was a great workout anyway, hah—and I was actually quite warm the entire way. At least my upper body was fine. This coat reaches down about halfway down my thigh, and everything that was covered was warm. I also stayed quite dry within the coat. I'd definitely buy again. This is a really heavy duty parka. It's a lot more than your little puffer jacket. I'll take this to the UK with me. It's the real deal. The Men's Down Jacket arrived very quickly, was well packaged, and undamaged. I ordered this for my husband. He has to go to his job sites outside regularly. I ordered his usual size and it fit him perfectly. SO, this jacket is true to size. My husband said that it is the warmest jacket he has ever owned. And he has had Government issued jackets, as well as some name brands like the one that starts with a "C" and is a city in South Carolina. (I think he has never had a down jacket before). This is a wonderful winter coat. Plenty of pockets and well made. The sizing is perfect and I'm thrilled with the design and fabric. Only the "Men's Winter Coat with Detachable Hood Heavyweight Long Down Jacket " doesn't have down filling. If you look at the label attached to the coat, the filling is polyester not down. Down is warmer and is used is better, upscale coats. Honestly it's hard to believe that for this price you'll get real down filling but I think manufacturers need to advertise honestly. I'm happy with this coat. However I ordered this with the understanding that the product page was not being straight forward. I think this coat is well worth the price but you don't get fillet mignon at chuck steak prices. Read more
