This does not work very well. Bought it for my mom who is always hot, it did nothing. Would not buy again. Read more
Water reservoir needs to be bigger., but other than that great product. Read more
It was limited cold air, and the speed was also minimal. Definitely not worth the money. Read more
The item does not do what it alleged to do. It does not get cold and cuts off after an hour even when ice cubes and cold water are put in the reservoir. Read more
I got this for my kid who spends every single summer complaining about how hot he is. We can't realistically keep turning the thermostat down for him, and regular fans just don't satisfy him. A full sized A/C unit would honestly be overkill, not to mention inefficient, too noisy, and 100 other reasons to hate, so I figured why not try something small like this? I was skeptical, but now I'm hopeful that this will be reasonably helpful. The instructions aren't the most helpful and the markings on the fan are not clear. The low/high button is just two pictures of snowflakes. You'd assume the denser snowflake is the higher setting, but I *think* that's the lower setting. I'm still not positive, but the instructions or markings should really just make that obvious. The light feature is kind of annoying because yes, there are 7 colors, but the only way to use it is have it cycle constantly through all 7 colors. You can't just pick one color and keep it that color. So it's either all 7 colors cycling, or off. It's a little louder than I'd like, and when you are running the condensate cycles, it does make an intermittent hissing sound, which I'm sure my son will complain about, but the tradeoff is cool air, so it's a reasonable trade-off. There is a sticker on the bottom of the unit that says "In the cold air mode, please drain the condensate in this water tank approximately ever four hours to prevent the condensate from overflowing". But there are no directions on how to drain it. The only way I see to do it is to tip the entire unit and dump it out from the back. There's no easy way to remove the bottom reservoir; you would have to unscrew it from the bottom, which would be very inconvenient. So, again, a real lack of clear instructions. The instructions say to not use purified water--use tap water or mineral water, which is kind of concerning as I wonder if that'll cause sediment or build up to accumulate easily in the unit and shorten the life. It would be pretty hard to clean this unit out thoroughly after use. I tested this by putting a thermometer next to the unit at first to figure out the starting air temperature. That was 69.3. Then I put the thermometer in front of the unit. After five minutes, the temperature was down to 64.6 degrees. That was not actually the lowest, either. I walked by a couple minutes later and saw it drop as low as 63.5, which I would guess to be about as low as it would go. I'm not saying this will cool your room to 63 degrees in the summer since my house is currently pretty cool, but it's definitely not just circulating air that's the same temperature. I'm hopeful this will help get us through those summer nights. I will definitely update this if it is short-lived. Read more

This portable air conditioner is great for a Pinch! We have a room that gets incredibly hot in the summer. It’s especially humid as well. This year we decided to get one of these mini guys and a window fan to blow the hot air outside. We tested it out and were so pleased that it blew the cold air out. We decided to use Ice because the instructions say ice or water but water isn’t really very cold. I’m not sure how long the ice will last before it melts because we live in the northeast and it is barely 40 degrees out most days but even if it has to be constantly replaced we have an ice maker as well as the patience to keep filling it so long as it keeps the area slightly cool. I’m happy with it and can’t wait to use it more often in the summer months. Read more
It has to be plugged in to work. The fan strength is not strong. I have it on the 4th speed and can barely feel it from my nightstand. You have to be right in front of it. As a desktop cooling fan, it is satisfactory. It is not sufficient for 90+ temperatures. Read more
