Despite minor annoyances, I love this thing so much I purchased it twice!
My husband and I are that couple that always bickers over the temperature in the house. I’m always hot, he’s always cold and the middle compromise is not comfortable for either of us. I bought this lil cooler and I love it SO MUCH I bought a second one. Yes it’s easily portable and I have carried it around but I’m clumsy and I fear spilling water everywhere so I have one for the bedroom and one for the living room. This cools a small personal area incredibly well. With the misters on and it pointed at me from about 3-6ft away, I am sufficiently cool and sometimes have had to turn it off because I’m too cold! As for the noise level I’d say that it’s neither quiet nor loud. It does hit some sort of frequency that’s annoying at first, but I got used to it and now it’s just a low background noise. I had done some research and so I also had purchased a different kind of swamp cooler, one that wets a filter and air blows over the filter. I am returning it because it’s nowhere near as good as this one. Caveats - this works better at a humidity of less than 60%. We keep a dehumidifier in the house and I’ve noticed once it hits 60 it doesn’t feel as cool. Downsides - the lights on the indicators are too bright for sleep and since its blue light it keeps me awake. I’ve had to cover the lights in order to sleep. The tank being on the top is efficient for the operation of the unit but I do worry because when filled with water, it’s very top heavy, so handle with care (hence why I bought a second one). Even with the downsides I am giving this cooler 5 stars because even with its annoyances, it does the job and cools me VERY well.
