Didn't work for me, never cooled anything. Made it humid but that was all.
I'm sorry to say that I am disappointed in this swamp cooler/humidifier. While it will ad humidity to the room it doesn't do anything to cool it and I don't understand why. This should be its best environment, high heat and almost zero humidity. The best temp I could get out of it was 79/80 degrees. And that was with the frozen cooling bottles in it and water as cold as I could get from the tap. I tried it first up on the dresser in the room for a few days, made sure that it was as far away from the wall as possible so it had air flow. That didn't change anything so I moved it down to the floor where it should have done better but after a couple days there was no change in the humidified air coming out of it, still 79/80 degrees. I even took the back off of it to make sure the media was getting wet, poked a paperclip through the feed line holes to make sure that it wasn't a problem with those being plugged up, they weren't and the media was wet all the way across so that wasn't the issue. I'm glad I didn't install the wheels, that just made it much easier to box back up and return. A friend has one very similar to this, which was out of stock at that moment I ordered, and hers worked well for cooling in a small area, which is what I tried, my guest bedroom 10'x10' max. Cools down a small space
We bought this to cool down our downstairs since we can’t put window units in. Although it doesn’t make a drastic change for a larger space it definitely does the trick in cooling down the room. It’s a great size to put anywhere and doesn’t stick out too much. Read more
