The cooling is really unique based on the fact that I've never seen a product like this where the air gets cooled by the water however it doesn't spray you or even mist you. So you don't ruin your makeup by using it! I can't wait to try this on a camping trip (coming up soon) in a tent. I think it'll be perfect for that sort of thing. Or if you're one of those who have to have airflow by your face directly to cool down/for comfort. It's also way quieter than these sorts of things typically are. However, a negative for this product is the battery life. The battery seems to drain before your eyes so to speak. Perhaps the battery will get improved on a future model as this seems to be a sorta new thing. For the mean time though, I'd recommend maybe bringing a battery pack to extend its usage time if there's not somewhere to keep it plugged in where you're going. It also works almost just as efficient with just room temperature water as it does with ice water, so that extends its portability too, not needing ice to use it. Read more

The fan is pretty small, you have to sit about 12” away to feel the fan on its highest setting. The battery only lasts 20 minutes on the high setting. I could see misting water when the water option is on, but it really didn’t feel any cooler than just the plain fan. I’ve experienced these evaporative fans in the past, standing in line at an amusement park, and those fans work but they put out a strong air flow and the water mist is much stronger. I thought this might work for a camping trip or sitting outside but you can’t move away from it. You might be better off just buying a larger, stronger fan and let it dry the sweat off. In this part of the US, it has been very hot during the day, so we need a good breeze to feel any cooler when we’re outside. Indoors, I’d probably not use it because it adds moisture to the air and we are constantly trying to dry out the air, not add more humidity. That said, the fan does work and the water reservoir lasts a long time, it’s just not as cool as I thought and the battery life is disappointing. Read more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This is a cute little cooling fan that my kids love to take with them to soccer practice! We live in the desert so if you can imagine it’s a popular item in my house. The air is cooled because of the ice water but you won’t get wet with the air blowing on you, so that’s a nice feature!
