This compact laptop stand is impressively sturdy and strong. It arrives all folded up. To unfold it for use, simply pull apart the top two pieces sideways. When it has expanded into a crisscrossing structure (to the fullest), flip the two hinged metal strips to insert into the rectangular holes at one of the six preset angles. The stand is adjustable to offer different positions / slopes for typing, based on personal preferences. The inserts, though appear thin, are mighty solid and strong. The stand holds extremely steady and firm as long as the inserts sit squarely in the holes. I have no problem setting the angle quickly and easily. The bottom two strips (with rectangular holes) look like skis. Actually, I like the appearance of this stand. It is very clean-cut and looks ultra modern. There are several areas where non-skid silicone pads are added. One can see these black pads / strips near the front of the "skis", at the underside rears of the "skis" and on the two long strips that will be in contact with the laptop bottom. All these are well throughout to ensure good friction exists to keep the laptop firmly footed on the stand. I especially love that it is so airy to allow heat to dissipate from the laptop without the need for cooling fans while on the stand. Once folded up for storage, the four embedded magnets will keep the various hinged strips from flipping and flopping on their own. Durable and solid build quality. I love the fact that it has adjustable height options, it makes it easier on my arms and wrists when I'm typing or trying to view my screen under different lighting.
