I was hesitant to be one of the first few to purchase this monitor. It's literally the only 300hz portable monitor currently on the market. I tried to find info about this monitor but couldn't, not even on Magedoks site, Aliexpress etc. It definitely looks like it's using the 15.6" AUO B156HAN12.0 300hz panel which is in a lot of high refresh rate laptops. I've gone through multiple high refresh rate portable monitors & this is by far the best one, I'm glad I purchased it! It's a keeper. Positives: -Works great @ 300hz via type c (one cable only) or via directly from the mini display port of monitor (to my RTX 3090) -No frameskipping -Gsync via display port -Passes UFO test with ease, you can definitely see the difference between 150hz & 300hz -No ghosting/input lag that I can see throughout the refresh rages (60-300 I've tried) -HDR works, but no local dimming on it (obviously) so not worth the increase in black level -Out of box settings are calibrated -It comes in a usable grey carry pouch which is a nice touch - Super light - No IPS glow - Awesome stand, very easy to adjust/use Negatives: -If in a dark room w/ no lights w/ a completely black screen on, there is some backlight bleed on the bottom leftish. It's not bad at all, but it's there. Can't see it in semi-dark to bright room w/ completely black screen. My advice if you're on the fence, purchase it before it's gone. I do believe it's "limited edition" as noted in the item description. It even shows "limited edition" on the actual boot up screen of monitor. I'm not sure how many more panels they have of this outside of the ones in stock. In my experience, this is a much better buy than the Asus 17" 240hz screen. Hope this helps anyone! :) Read more

Pros: Faster than 99% of the screen market. Portable Uses relatively little power (5V 3A) Freesync is supported (only up to 240Hz) Decent factory color calibration Cons: Expensive Viewing angles are not great. Limited edition? It's an expensive monitor that's 200 dollars over the most expensive monitors, but it punches at an entire weight class above it. This monitor will outperform some of the fastest desktop monitors while retaining a portable footprint and decent color accuracy. It is the smoothest monitor I've ever seen and at this form factor, I can show it to other people who've never used high refresh rate monitors before. Read more

I normally don't write reviews but I love this thing. I wanted a small monitor for a computer I keep in the living room that I can fold up and put away when not using it. This thing is perfect, looks great, and the headphone jack on it is perfect for my use case. I was worried this might be a waste of money or too small but I really love it. Read more

Doesn't come with the textbook that you'll put it on for that extra height but otherwise it's perfect. Read more

There aren't many options in this category of display, so although I wish different choices had been made in its design; if I want to have all my must-have items, I need to live with disappointment. 1) The screen does not save your brightness, color, sharpness, contrast, HDR "on", audio level... etc. (Seriously Magedok you couldn't have included a "save custom" profile?) So you need to re-set these every time you turn on the display. The largest annoyance from this is the brightness default setting is about 30% which is hard to see in anything other than a dark room. [There is a software solution to this, see below in the "Pro" list.] Which leads to problem #2... 2) The menu buttons are behind the display in the middle which is awkward to get to and not intuitive as the "enter" and "cancel" buttons are next to each other followed by the navigation. So you have to constantly feel around with your hand behind the screen to switch between navigating the menu and entering a setting. It would have been splendid if they had put the menu buttons on the edge of the display. 3) Display status and error messages are in red 8pt text, over a grey box which makes them incomprehensible. I am not the young man I was, I still have 20/20 distance vision, but I need reading glasses now for small work. Even with glasses I have no idea what those messages are warning me about as I can't make out any of the letters. 4) (Really minor - petty issue) As one of the few miniDP displays, it is annoying that I have to buy a miniDP cable separately. This is more of a $10 aggravation than a serious complaint, but it would have been nice to include this somewhat unusual cable in the box. The Pro list is worth mentioning: * Includes miniDP! * The cable connections are deep behind the display (which makes cable management much cleaner). * The kickstand is graceful and well designed. * The display is really, really thin. * 1440p is the sweet spot for small, portable video editing displays, really no competition for this. * HDMI is a full-sized port * [2025 Note] Just figured out this display is DDC/CI controllable! This means you can adjust the Brightness/Contrast and Volume using a DDC app like "Twinkle Tray" (Windows) or "Lunar" (Mac). This solves one of the big problems with the display.
