I try to take photos of smaller items on top of a full size keyboard for size comparison. My photos show you want came - and there was a good, clear manual included as well (you can see it at bottom of picture 2). What I like - good mounting flexibility as it comes with three wall anchors that you could also screw into a block of wood strapped to a pole, fence, or tree. The unit can be adjusted in many ways to face the sun and collect the light. It's lightweight and quite adaptable to various mounting situations. It included an adapter to convert what I believe to be micro USB to USB C, so two ways to plug it into a device. What I dislike - nothing. I have not used the unit. My hope was to power an outdoor camera with it that was built into a wooden bird feeder, but sun, wind and rain took that device away before I built a mounting system for the charger. I do believe that it will be useful to power an outdoor security camera without the need for a long electrical cord and will likely employ it that way in the near future. Read more

I recently purchased the 5W Solar Panel by DARAN for my outdoor security camera, and I'm impressed with its performance. The panel is made of high-quality monocrystalline silicon, which provides excellent efficiency (21%-30%) in converting sunlight into energy. This means my camera can stay powered throughout the day without any interruptions. One of the features I appreciate most is the panel's IP65 waterproof rating. Living in an area with unpredictable weather, it's essential to have equipment that can withstand the elements. The DARAN solar panel operates flawlessly in temperatures ranging from -4°F to 140°F, ensuring my camera stays powered even in harsh conditions. Installing the panel was a breeze thanks to the pre-drilled mounting holes and included screws. The 360-degree adjustable mounting bracket allows me to position the panel for optimal sun exposure. The 9.8ft cable provides ample length to place the camera where I need it, and the USB connection makes it compatible with a wide range of devices. The panel's durability is also noteworthy. The low-iron tempered glass surface and corrosion-resistant aluminum frame provide excellent protection against the elements, ensuring a long service life of up to 25 years. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the DARAN 5W Solar Panel. It provides a reliable and efficient power solution for my outdoor security camera, giving me peace of mind knowing that my property is being monitored continuously. Read more

The media could not be loaded. When I ordered this solar panel I was taking a chance. The web page (at the time) didn't say how long the cord was and it didn't state what type of connector it had (micro USB, USB-c, etc). My intention was to use it for some older Wyze outdoor security cameras. Those cameras have their own battery that can be recharged with a micro-USB connection. I got lucky with this panel. It has a nice long connection cord that has to be about 6 feet long or more. At the end of that cord is a male micro-USB connector. As a bonus you also get a converter attachment that changes the male micro-USB to a male USB-c connector. Give it enough direct sunlight and it had no problems charging the battery of the security camera. I would suggest adding some waterproofing to the connections if you use it outdoors. It's also been good for charging up a variety of camping lanterns and rechargeable flashlights when you're away from a plug-in power source. It will produce a little power on overcast days or in shaded lighting conditions but it might not be strong enough to charge your device on those days. Read more

At $15.99 (Amazon price at time of purchase; currently shows as "unavailable") this is a nice, functional, well-built solar panel for - in my case - some external security cameras. Nice length for the cable, too. The base is better than many panels of this type have, but honestly it's close to worthless because it doesn't work for many situations. I get it that many would like a low-profile mount/base, but one that was 3x the length would work better for the angles I need. There's nothing special about this panel; it's sold by various sellers here on Amazon (I have three different seller's panels and they are identical and all priced (at the time of this review) at $15.99). So no big deal that this offering is no longer available, go with the one that is and/or might be offering a deal. I went with the one that offered a discount if you ordered 2 or more (search ASIN B0CN5NDQ3F). Plug and play with either micro-USB or USB-C (the latter is a micro-USB to USB-C adapter). I like these little panels so much I bought four more (ASIN B0CN5NDQ3F, that is). 5 stars. Read more

This 5w, 5v solar panel is a good upgrade to the small solar panels that come with so many budget wifi solar ptz cameras. I'm using this in an area that just receives about 6 hours of sunlight- enough direct sunlight to charge my wifi camera even in a cloudy day. The rest of the daylight hours are obscured by diffused light obstructed by trees. I have to use shrink tubing to weather seal the solar panel's USB plug due to the camera having its own extended short female usb jack. Not all cameras are that way- this one is. I don't want rain to seep into the plug and rust it out. The panel provides steady 5v at varying current depending on the sun's intensity. Mounting hardware is included. The actual mount and protruding molded piece the panel is screwed on to is made of plastic. I noticed it's not a good idea to overtighten the tension wheel after angling the panel towards the sun's arc. The panel is lightweight so that shouldn't be a problem. Worthy of consideration for upgrading solar rechargeable wireless cameras. Read more
