This design/style works so much better than others.

NTTMarch 3, 2021✓ Verified purchase

These were my last purchase of "floss-hands". Not because of the quantity but because I was finally satisfied with this design/style. I purchased the other styles of "floss-hands" one after another, only to be disappointed each time. The designs were so awkward to use and they bumped into my gum causing pain. I certainly do not have a small jaw. Yet, they were difficult to use. Once I purchased these, I was happy. These are certainly easy to use and I don't mind flossing my teeth after each meal. The only problem is.... and this is also the reason why I gave only 1 star for the Packaging, the packaging is too big. After all, these are reusable and it is a sturdy product. One of these hand-floss goes a long long way. A pack of 10 of these, or even 5, for 1 person is plenty. But a pack of 50? LOL, even when I shared with friends & family, I still have 30 left. So Amazon, please pack these in smaller quantity so this product would be more appealing to your custmomers. Having said that, I highly recommend to buy these. Even if you use only a few (1 by the toothbrush, 1 in the purse, 1 in the office, 1 in a traveling luggage, etc..), this purchase is still worth it. Keeping your teeth and gum healthy is worth it. Marginal for exceptionally tight teeth

SanthaMay 9, 2022✓ Verified purchase

Have been extremely patient during the "learning curve" and tried many types of high grade floss, including those with teflon by GUM, etc., non teflon coated floss like REACH, both waxed/unwaxed. The achilles heel of this tool is that it does not maintain sufficient floss tension to floss both upper and lower teeth on my exceptionally tight teeth. Family members who have average tight teeth are able to use it for flossing with better success, but the learning curve requires tenacity and patience. The key to reaching and maintaining maximum floss tightness is to pull hard while stringing floss over bridge, and following directions provided for stringing floss, winding counter clockwise around nuthead. i had been very hopeful, looking for a way to reduce plastic flosser waste. I do string this up, ready it for use, prior to the need for flossing, and use it when i really want to use a flosser with my REACH. I also found a flosser by RASOKO with a compostable cornstarch handle and bamboo floss which isn't too expensive ($2.50 / 50) and works fairly well, to fill the gap. Read more

Great idea

Chris Y.December 10, 2024✓ Verified purchase

I am trying these because I felt bad about the additional plastic waste using "floss picks". I can't get the floss tight enough to stay in the grooves on either end. I am unable to do all of the upper or lower teeth and when the floss is loose, I can't get in between my molars because the frame his my gums. The loose floss also comes out of the grooves when lose. I will give it another week, I floss multiple times a day. But am not hopeful. I'll probably go back to the floss picks but will get the biodegradable ones mentioned in the other 3 star review. I really wanted these to work. The concept is excellent. I'll update if I discover a trick to keep the floss tight and in the grooves. I tried to add photos to the review but was unable to for some reason. Read more

Don’t buy any other flossing tool but this!

C. FISHERAugust 15, 2020✓ Verified purchase

I had one of these that lasted over 20 years. I found a replacement sold from an online dental supply and bought 2 for about 10 bucks. Then, a couple of years later, a woman i hired to “organize” and clean my house threw them both out, along with some other.things she did not understand. I’m still not certain how i missed that, but at the time (and now) i was using a water pic for flossing. However with Covid, I haven’t been able to have my teeth cleaned this year, and when i had some tarter buildup on the back of my lower front teeth, i looked to begin using this tool and both were missing. I was upset, because i have a small lower jaw, and my teeth are crowded, making it very hard to floss using the flimsy tools normally found. This design allows me to use a tightly stretched Glide strand of floss that is doubled because my teeth will shred any other round or type of string floss. After a few days of use my teeth spread out enough to reduce the difficulty, but this tool has proven itself over and over to be durable and worthy of buying 50 at once to use perhaps 2 over the course of my last 20 or so years i have left on this wonderful earth. Anyway, long story, but i really wanted to let others know that this is a tool for those serious about their dental hygiene. I’m happy i will never run out of them in my lifetime! Read more

Very good product. Unfortunately you have to buy a 50 pack.

I got these about 5 years ago to stop using Plackers (waste plastic). We had collected tons of free floss from the dentist). I love these. I settled on using the fork end since it gives better tension. Both ends are very sturdy (I have not broken one yet over the past 5 years. I have used two because I lost one). I use about 8 inches at a time. After two to three uses, I reuse by pulling the length in about 2cm. Then flip around. And repeat for four lengths used (8-12 uses) per floss. Unfortunately the ones where the floss is pulled in about 2 cm in sometimes slip so I get less uses per floss. Since I had to buy a 50 pack, I gave some to my relatives. Unfortunately, I do not know how many of them use it. Read more
