I have mixed feelings about these. I assume they're stainless steel, but this product listing only ever refers to them as "metal", which is a bit odd. Either way, the metal is conductive enough that you can quickly get them up to body temperature before use, and it doesn't seem like the colored chrome coating is liable to flake. The issue with these, which you can't really tell from the pictures provided, is just how big of a leap it is from the medium to large sizes. It's supposedly a 0.3" difference in diameter, which means it's around an extra inch in circumference, and that really doesn't sound like much... but compare the sizes in the included photo. These come shipped in what appears to be a chocolate candy gift box. So, be sure your kids don't open your amazon boxes first. Each is individually wrapped in tissue paper and has its own synthetic felt bag. The colors on these toys are fabulous. The purple and green are perfect! My photos don't do it justice. I did notice right away that the pink was a bit off for some reason. Couldn't quite place it, but it looked opalescent or something. Then I figured it out. The pink is blacklight responsive. I don't think it was intentional, but that pink one GLOWS under UV light. I for one, wish it wasn't UV responsive. I think the purple and green are great, and wish the pink followed suit. However, a fully UV set of three would be fun too. The sizes of the toys are very typical, and within mm of similar units. The shape is as well very stereotypical with only slight variation.
