Love this as a vest for winter. Will look great over a tee or a turtleneck, and with a skirt or jeans. The buttons are a nice touch and sets this piece apart- a spare button is nice to have, too. This is thick & very chunky but it is not heavy, it's actually a light piece to wear. It is cut wide for a boxy fit. The armholes are very generously cut low and will fit over a heavy winterweight turtleneck for easy movement .Those same armholes would prevent me from wearing this without a shirt underneath. I got the brown as a neutral, it is a very pretty milk chocolate brown. I ordered a size larger than usual so that I would have a loose fit with plenty of room underneath the vest. Love these vests. Well made. Comfortable. . Great price. I hand wash these items as to preserve the quality, lay flat to dry. I usually order a large in clothes because I like a baggy loose fit…. I weigh 135 pounds and am 5’4 inches tall. I started with a large. Too big but will work with shirts , lightweight sweaters underneath. Then I ordered a medium. Still larger than what I wanted. I love these sweater vests so much that I have them in 4 colors. The quality is great and they are TTS. I ordered comparable vests prior to this purchase with only three buttons. I returned those and ordered these. These do not gap open like the three button vests did. They are soft and comfortable. They are shorter than some vests and come to my waist which I love.
