I bought this because I forget to turn mine off. This goes off automatically so it does what I wanted it to do. It holds a good amount of coffee and I have found that I have needed to put more coffee grounds in this pot when brewing than my old pot. But the coffee is tasty and hot. It does heat so the coffee is hot which is great. If you put before it is done brewing it does drip. Read more

This coffee maker is great! It's portable and super simple, so there's not much to go wrong with it. It's exactly what I was looking for! The hard toggle switch makes it easy to setup with a smart plug and on the plus side, the pot stores with the handle stored inside the coffee machine which helps it store in a shelf. The only thing that is disappointing is the cord storage doesn't have door so you have to stuff the cord into a compartment underneath and hope it says inside. Read more

This coffee maker is small enough for limited space... that's why I bought it. I like the front fill and auto shutoff features. The programming feature is nice even though we don't use it because we're retired and don't have a schedule to get up. Things I don't like... the pot will leak if you don't pour very slowly as other reviewers have mentioned. I've had others with a better pouring spout. The coffee pot is extremely light weight, which is good and bad, but the entire coffee maker slides when you try to remove the pot, so you have to hold it in place to get the pot out. maybe some rubber feet would help. There is no access to the water reservoir, so I'm not sure if that would be a cleaning problem. Overall, I like this one because it meets our needs and it's priced very reasonable. Read more

I bought this coffee maker one year ago. I don’t use it in my home, I got it for me to use at my friends home. I use it about 3-4 months out of the year at my friends house. She doesn’t drink coffee so of course she didn’t have a coffee maker. I am so thankful I don’t have to use this coffee maker on a regular basis. There are 3 major design problems with this coffee maker. First & most horrible is the coffee carafe MUST be snapped into place on top of the heat plate while brewing or staying hot. If it is not snapped perfectly in place the coffee runs out of the filter basket all over everywhere, gets coffee grounds in the carafe & all over the area where the coffee maker is sitting. It is a horrible mess. It is difficult to get the carafe exactly into the right position. It must SNAP into place perfectly or there is a big mess everywhere. Sadly I have done this twice when I was sure the carafe was in the proper position. Second, the controls are on the side, at the bottom of the maker in black. The controls are very difficult to see, even with lights on in the room. Third, the carafe drips everywhere every time you pour from it. It is impossible to put water in the coffee maker without having water everywhere. Coffe drips all over the counter when pouring a cup of coffee. I have tried so many times to pour as slow as possible without dripping. The carafe never pours without dripping. I would never buy this coffee maker again. If I had to use it every day it would have been replaced months ago. I am always so happy to get home to my own coffee maker. Proctor Silex you failed on this one. Read more

My husband is not a ‘pod guy,’ but he absolutely loves the Proctor Silex Coffee Maker! It’s simple, reliable, and brews a perfect pot of coffee every time. He prefers using his own grounds, and this machine makes it super easy to customize his brew just the way he likes it. The size is great for our kitchen, and it’s really easy to clean. Plus, it heats up quickly and doesn’t take forever to brew a pot, which is a huge bonus. If you’re looking for a straightforward, no-fuss coffee maker that delivers great coffee without the pods, this one is a winner! Read more

For a couple dollars more, we could have gotten the coffee maker (sounds like “Fister Toffee” 😉) of the same brand to replace the one that just died—the button stopped working. My husband and I did a lot of back-and-forth about trying another coffee maker… He makes the coffee! This one seemed like a good thing because the water front-loads, and it makes 12 cups of coffee. The coffee is hot though we found we needed to put a little extra coffee in because it wasn’t strong enough. There are so many downsides to this coffee maker: first, the handle on the carafe is lightweight. It does not feel like it will last very long. This is a problem, of course, because it is holding really hot liquid. Second, half of the time when pouring coffee, it drips. I don’t know why, but my other coffee maker did not. The front loading area for the water is not real big, so you can’t just pour the water in all at once, but have to pour it in more slowly. This is an issue if you’re in a hurry. There is a spot at the top of the handle on the carafe, where we usually would hold the other carafe: but in this Proctor Silex model, there is steam coming out at the top of the handle where the lid joins the carafe and so I burned my thumb. Next, the coffee maker itself is lightweight and cheap: so when you try to return the carafe onto the “hot plate,” it pushes the whole coffee maker back on the counter and you need two hands to secure the carafe onto the hot plate. For some, that may not seem like a big deal, but I have never needed a second hand to complete this simple task… Finally, we are used to loading both our water and our coffee filter (with coffee) at the top. No mess and no fuss. This brand requires that you pull the coffee basket that holds the filter out to the side. I did this because there were a lot of little grounds in my coffee today, and I wanted to see if the filter had collapsed. The filter had not fallen, but the coffee maker commenced to drip coffee all over my countertop. To save a few bucks, I feel that we disrupted our happy coffee morning ritual. This puppy is going back! Read more
